Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - Guest - 08-10-2009 Somerville also bought 4 former FDNY rigs in the mid 80's. 2 Mack Engines, a Mack Tower, and a Seagrave Ladder. The Engines went to Engines 3 and 7, the Tower tower 1, and The Ladder was supposed to go to Ladder 2, but never quite worked right, and was eventually sold to West Bridgewater I believe. Anyways, does anyone know what companies these ran as when they were in the FDNY, or have any pictures of them before they were sold? Thanks Tom D
yes, they were both bought from new york. i'm not sure but i think i remember the tower had the number 110 on it and the pump was numbered 55 pr 57. the pump was refurbished and originally assigned to E1 and ran out of everett ave. when e1 was replaced with the Pierce in 1986 it was refurbished for the second time and put in service as E4 replacing the 1971 haan. it was running as E2 when it was involved in the accident with the tower. they started in chelsea on the same day and went out of service on the same day...
Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - brad12667 - 08-10-2009 North Attleborough, MA Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - brad12667 - 08-10-2009 Topsfield, MA R-1 Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - AMBULANCE34 - 08-11-2009 (L-R) North Reading Engine 4, Ladder 1, Engine 1 and the nose of the Rescue Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - Guest - 08-13-2009 Worcester Engine 12 photo by Joe Morrissey Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - Guest - 08-13-2009 Worcester Scope 3...this is a spare and in its day was what is now called Ladder 7. last I heard from a DFC in WFD this truck is no longer driveable and this picture by Joe Morrissey proves this theory as you can see the wheel is off.
