Bryn Athyn Fire Company (Montgomery County, Pa. Company 11), 1968 Hahn #HC110682 1000GPM/500. 817G Waukesha/5 Speed. Sold to Beaverdale, Pa. (Northumberland County, Pa. Company 22) November 1989. Confirmed as having been cut up by a scrap dealer after throwing a rod. Photo taken at the FIRST Firehouse Magazine Convention Parade in Philadelphia, Pa. 1983? 1984?

SPI was Steeldraulics in Rouzerville (Waynesboro), PA. They turned out fire apparatus for such diverse communities as South Bend, IN, Knoxville, TN, San Francisco, and Washington, DC in the 1980’s. I believe Grumman bought what became their Aerial Cat from Steeldraulics. SPI did a lot of refurbishment and finished some Pirsch apparatus at that company’s end. I used to do a day trip with the kids and swing by their plant. I was surprised such a small operation turned out apparatus for major cities. They folded in the late 80’s.
