Apparently they tried it out on an Expedition, and the chief liked it so much he insisted all their new cars be painted that way. I think it's an interesting variation on what is becoming an all consuming trend to go back to black & white cars.
I have to track down a car from a nearby department he also set up, their Charger is black with silver doors.

Thanks for the photos fellas! I need to get a gig in LINY. That is a nasty chiefs' ride. I do know those cars suck if the pavement is wet.
