Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 02-22-2012
Nate, Your information is not totally correct. FS523 has a career staff 12 hours a day for the engine, volunteer staffing for night, weekends, holidays, Medic 523 is 24-hour career staffed. Chris C
Chris, I spoke with a DTVFD last night and he did confirm FS23 is 100% career staffed 24/7 with an Engine and Medic. Sad to see another station bite the dust, but the county continues to grow and if the volunteer manpower isn't there to provide consistent staffing the county has no choice but step in, especially in an area as dense as the area in and around 23's district. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - firemag - 02-22-2012 It is a shame more Virginia buffs are not in Virginia Beach photographing the apparatus before they move into the convention center for the Chiefs Expo. Abundant sun, warm temps, beautiful rigs, and very helpful sales reps. More fun tomorrow! Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 02-22-2012 I wanted to make the trip, but it is looking like I'll be down that way next week and again St. Patty's day weekend. Can't afford all 3 times in less than a month. lol. Look forward to seeing your photos!!
Nate, your info is 100% correct now! Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - firemag - 02-23-2012 Another beautiful day here in Virginia Beach. I was joined today by Trey, Dennis, and Paul. Not too many new additions for the show. A Slagle's brush truck foe Wakefield VFD, a Toyne engine for King William VFD, and a gaggle of demos arrived. All are safely tucked into the convention center now. Looks like it will be a nice show. Numerous ambulances on display also. Come on down!. We did some VB buffing today, visiting FS12, FS16, and FS18. However the highlight of the day was photos for FS11. BC Tim Riley arranged for both E11 and E14 along with 11 Truck to come to the convention parking lot for individual and group photos. Great group of firefighters who assisted us. Life is good!!! Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Fire28 - 02-23-2012 Wow. Wish I'd stop forgetting about this show. Weather was awesome today.
