This & That from Here & There - kieferfire - 11-21-2012
We were after a few new deliveries in Chattanooga and another in Walker County, GA, but none of those rigs were available. We did catch this one at Chattanooga, their first quint with the Rosenbauer ladder. Earlier quints have RK ladders. Quint 1, Chattanooga, TN 2010 Spartan/Rosenbauer 1500/400/30F/75'
Still built by RK, or ? This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 11-21-2012
Still built by RK, or ?
Rosenbauer owns RK now. The RK name is pretty much gone. The new Rosenbauer aerials have a seat for the operator at the rear and there is a cover over the lifting cylinders that is usually painted body color. See posts 1894, 2938 and 3334 of this thread for other examples. This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 11-29-2012 Here's one that I have been after for several years. I just happened to catch it outside this morning while the crew was having EMS training. Since they were in class, I was unable to get all the info that I usually record. This rig was purchased as a dedicated reserve pumper and the Department Chief is less than easy to deal with. Today, we went out and captured a few rigs. Engine 2, Murray County, GA 2008 International 4400/Ahrens-Fox 1250/750 #21310
What?? No KME'S for Dan? This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 11-29-2012
What?? No KME'S for Dan?
Dan was able to shoot a new KME quint in Walker County on a day I was at the Station. This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-07-2013 In doing some research for an upcoming book on Atlanta's apparatus history, I discovered that I had never shot this one, but had shot it's slightly older "brother" three times! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Engine 40, Atlanta, GA 1991 Spartan/Quality 1500/500 M-568 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-07-2013 Quint 1, Riverdale, GA 2012 HME Ahrens-Fox 2000/400/78' RK #22257 This & That from Here & There - Guest - 01-07-2013
Here's one that I have been after for several years. During one of my many trips to see family in Spaulding Co, we went to Fayetteville for a movie, I remember passing a station in the shopping center.
This was a stock/demo/built-for-someone-else rig that they picked up. I don't believe there is any plan to change the rest of the fleet. The station you passed is Station 92. You should have gone to the theater on Mt. Zion, right off I-75, it's much better than the one you went to. This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-08-2013 Today I had the opportunity to drool over three Pierce stock trucks that my local rep was showing to several Chiefs from the south Metro Atlanta area. The weather wasn't great, but I was able to pick up a few ideas that will be incorporated into my design cache for future use. 2011 Pierce Arrow XT P.U.C. 1500/1000/30CAFS #25089 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-08-2013 2012 Pierce Velocity 1500/750/30F #26176 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-08-2013 2012 Pierce Saber 1500/500/75' #25579 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 02-06-2013 I finally got a day off with sunshine!!! If they were all Pierce, the hobby would get boring fast. Roswell has been buying Sutphens since 1986. This is their third platform and they have a 75' quint, along with a bunch of pumpers. They recently donated one of their twin 1991 Sutphen pumpers to an FD on Long Island that lost their apparatus during the storm. Georgia has several Sutphen departments, including Roswell, Carroll County and Rome-Floyd County. Cobb, DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties have numerous Sutphen aerials. This & That from Here & There - jim kay - 02-08-2013 Dave you can add Morrow to the list too.... We are expecting delivery of a new Sutphen engine in the next couple of months.... Several other departments will be receiving Sutphens this year too. We're working to make Georgia a Sutphen heavy state. |
