Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Now on to the Broward County stuff. First stop there was Ft. Lauderdale Station 53. Companies at this station on the north side of Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport are 53 and 88. The Air/Light truck is Support 88, a 1996 Freightliner/Hackney. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 2005 Pierce Quantum 1750/750 pumper as Engine 88 #16264-05. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 HazMat 88 is this huge 2007 Spartan Gladiator/Hackney Tractor-Trailer. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Rescue 35 came by in a spare rig, a 2003 Freightliner M2/Taylor Made. I didn't want it to feel bad so I took its picture. Mark Carr photo. Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Then it was on to Oakland Park, FL Station 20, a former Broward County station. Rescue 20 is a 2003 IHC/AEV rig. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Oakland Park's Engine 20 is a 2005 Pierce Enforcer 1500/750/30F Pumper #17094. We couldn't get the guy to understand how we wanted it posed so this is the best we could do. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Then it was on to Davie, FL Fire-Rescue Station 104. This is the only place we went where a cloud hovered over the station and wouldn't move until we were done shooting the rigs. So, here's a kinda blah looking Engine 104, a 2003 E\-One Hurricane 1250/750/25AFF/20F500 pumper #126256. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 And TRT-104, the one I really wanted to turn out better, is a 2006 Spartan/EVI. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Moving along from Davie to the Seminole Tribe Fire-Rescue near Hollywood, FL we shot this 2007 E\-One Typhoon 1500/1000/30F Pumper as Engine 108, #133296. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 And Rescue 108, one of two identical 2006 International/AEV rigs. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Not a good shot, but here's a spare from Broward County Sheriff Fire-Rescue. It's well worn 1995 HME/Luverne 1500/2500 Tanker that once served the City of Weston. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Another Broward County spare is this ex-Lauderdale Lakes unit, a 1997 Southern Coach 1500 pumper that I'm guessing has about 750 gallons of water on it. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 One of 3 volunteer departments still operating in Broward County is Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Their Squrt 12 is a 1994 Pierce Saber/Snorkel 1500/500/50' Telesqurt #E9469. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Lauderdale-by-the-Sea's Engine 12 is a 1995 Pierce Saber with a 1250 gpm pump and 750 gallons of water, Pierce #E9429. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Guest - 06-21-2009 Nice shots Mark. I was hoping to get Hazmat 88 while we were down, but I never got a chance to get back to Station 88. The first time we stopped they got hit out for a call. Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 And unmovable for posing is the former Ft. Lauderdale HazMat 88. It is a 1992 International built by Mickey. Mark Carr photo. Mark Carr Photos - Mark V. Carr - 06-21-2009 Last up is this Broward Sheriff Fire-Rescue helicopter that operates as one of the Air Rescue units. zIt is a 2002 American Eurocopter EC130, tail #N156BC. Thanks to Alex for knowing his way around Broward County so well and knowing about half the guys we ran into. That always makes it easier. Mark Carr photo Mark Carr Photos - Guest - 06-21-2009 Mark, The pictures came out great!! I'm glad we got together, hope to see you soon. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Mark Carr Photos - Guest - 06-21-2009
Yesterday, I wandered south to Broward County, FL with Alex (Firepix21) for a day of shooting in the sun. On the way, I shot a couple of other things. For your viewing pleasure, here is what we accomplished. First up, Greenacres Public Safety in Palm Beach County just got two new Freightliner M2/Wheeled Coach rigs. Here is Rescue 94 (10). Mark Carr photo
Mark, Whenever we decide to do Lake Worth, I've got to get this truck!! VERY NICE <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Mark Carr Photos - Ladder 68 - 06-21-2009 Stupid question... Any chance Fort Lauderdale Air Support Unit 88 was once at Station #13? Or do they have more than 1? Thanks in advance. |
