I came across this Pirsch TDA from the Louisville FD today. It’s

marked T2. It’s sitting behind a fence at Custom Fabrication and Welding along

Rt.707 in Murrells Inlet SC

Here's a shot of it taken back in 1990.

Ford, front/bumper mounted pumper in a storage facility in Hardyston, NJ.  No information or department name that I could read on the truck.  Sorry for the poor shot with my iPhone, it was behind a locked fence, as you can see.

By the body styling it's gotta be about a '64 Ford/Howe

Here is a sad end to a rig. This rig was privately owned in Winston-Salem but was sent to the scrapper due to financial constrants.

The original "Squadzilla".......

This rig began life as a pumper and was later given a raised roof, four door cab and sported a Hackney body on it for several years.

Where did you find this truck at ffdrive?  If it's somewhat close, I'd love to go get a pic of the old Squad 6 sometime...

Relics - Guest - 04-19-2013

Anybody have an in service photo of the squad?

The body, pump and tank were transfered to a new KME chassis several years ago.

Here's a happy ending to a proud rig.  This truck was delivered new to the US Quartermaster Depot in Tullahoma, TN in 1941.  From there, it went on to serve Oak Ridge, TN.  It was then sold to Clyde, NC sometime around the 1950's where it served until 1984.  In 1984 it was sold to a private citizen here in Haywood County.  Sometime thereafter, it was sold to a private collector in Bristol, TN.  In 2012 the truck was sold from the collector in Bristol, TN to a private collector in the Fredericksburg, VA area.  In 2012, the truck was discovered and brought back home to Clyde, NC.  The plans are to totally restore the truck and make a parade truck out of it.  I wish all rigs turned out with such a happy ending!

Here's another somewhat happy end to a proud rig!  It's not exactly a fire truck anymore.  They removed the pump and a lot of the equipment, but it retained its appearance as a fire truck!
