It was on its side more than it was on its wheels. Tipped over all the time. They'd just flip it back over and drive away. I bet EddieMo08 probably has a pic of it on its side...I know I've seen one, but I dont have one... I will check my records and see what I have [/quote WEDNESDAY May 5 2010 Check of my records and confirming info with retired Chief Fitzgerald.....Malden E-5 1961 GMC/Lacey equipped with a high pressure booster. This rig was designed by Malden Chief Garrity. It ran as the second piece to Engine Co. 1 which was staffed with 8 men at the time. Chief Fitzgerald reports that it did go to the Malden DPW. I enlarged the photo and it looks like the photo was taken at a parade. At the front is the rear step of a pump and just to the rear of E5 is the front bumper and fender of another rig. Look at the rear step and to the right of the photo is a Chelsea CD vehicle. Looks like a mystery as to where this photo was taken. Given the apparatus and other vehicles. I would venture to guess that the rig was still in service as Malden E-5 at the time of the photo.
