I know, I know, but was wondering....any scuttlebutt on what PD will be looking at for there new ESUs trucks. Not the REPs but the "big truck"? I'm guessing Ferrara since they have built ESU's Decon truck. Perhaps they are waiting to see how the FDNY rescues come out.

New York state passed a law last summer for blue lights on police cars and fire trucks and EMS , rear faceing only for better visabilety, mostly on the highways. [Statewide]

FDNY Rescue's.

Wow, going back to aluminum wheels I see. It looked as if they were going to be like Rescue 1 (the Pierce) and stay red, but the latest pictures show the aluminums.

Is all the Rescue's getting replaced, or just all but Rescue 1?

Thanks.

F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 12-16-2010

Isn't Ferrara have a contract for ladders?

F.D.N.Y. - TacSupport1 - 12-16-2010

Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., has been awarded another large contract by the City of New York. Under the terms of the newest agreement, Ferrara will supply FDNY five heavy rescue trucks. The rescues will be built on Ferrara’s heavy duty Igniter chassis with a stainless steel tilt cab. In December, the announcement was made of Ferrara’s order for ten new FDNY 100’ rear mount aerial ladders.

F.D.N.Y. - FDNY 10-75 - 12-17-2010

The first few Ferrara aerials are in production, the photos should be up on Ferrara's website shortly...

The aerials will be assigned: L137, L156, L81, L123, L24, L169, L32, L154, L42, L4, L165, L49, L173, L38, L29, L8, L113, L132, L11, L3.

A hazmat unit was also snuck in the rescue order with modified specs. The squads will be replaced next, starting with an order of 2 or 3 then another 2 or 3 a year later (not out to bid yet)...

Great shots and a Beautiful rig....BUT Why ground ladders mounted on the roof....any trench, collapse, confined space scene is flooded with ladder companies.....In case they are first due and need to make a grab.....c'mon...by the time they get those ladders down off the roof....the first due truck will be 84 and throwing up ladders...Love the LED compartment lighting.
