Scott,

Additional info on the Phoenixville mini-pumper:

1979 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe K30/Pierce, mini-pumper, 400/250/20, 5.7L gas, 165HP, manual transmission, fiberglass tank, 4 KW Gererac generator, 8000 lb. front mounted winch, 4X4 field piece. This was the first piece ordered changing the paint scheme to LYW. It was housed on 9/27/80 for $35,000. By 04/04, placed OOS by company, needed exhaust work, relief valve work, pump leaks, cab doors don’t shut properly, too much to maintain, not enough use in the borough. Sold to Spring City (Chester County) in 07/04. Refurbed and repainted, placed into service by them in 07/05.

Scott,

Info on the Paradise rigs:

1948 Chevrolet Loadmaster/Stauffer, full cab, 500/300, cost $5,607, delivered 6/48, in 1975 converted to a woods and grass unit, by the 1990’s, retained by the company as an antique. I believe it was sold by the company - don't see it around anymore. Stauffer was a local builder from Lancaster County.

1960 Chevrolet C60/Howe, full cab, 750/500. The chassis was purchased from Shirks Garage-Paradise Chevrolet dealer, chassis sent to Howe on 2/15/60, delivered 7/60, total cost was $15,119. The booster tank was replaced in 1983. Sold in 1988 to a fire company in the western US.

Kinzer info:

1986 International S1800/Pierce, full cab, 450/400/30, Int’l DT466, automatic, 6 KW Onan generator, purchased new for $101,702 through Domestic Fire Apparatus-Downingtown. For sale in late 2002, sold to North Madison Fire Company, Madison, IN. Left on 12/11/02.

Scott,

I gave you some bogus info on the Paradise rig. On the newer rig, should have read the following:

1975 Chevrolet C65/Howe, full cab, 750/1000/80, cost $45,000. Sold to Bandy,(Tazewell County, VA.)

Will you ever forgive me for my incorrect post ?

Thanks Al.
