Keystone State Relics - BA000049 - 10-20-2006 Scott, Additional info on the Phoenixville mini-pumper: 1979 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe K30/Pierce, mini-pumper, 400/250/20, 5.7L gas, 165HP, manual transmission, fiberglass tank, 4 KW Gererac generator, 8000 lb. front mounted winch, 4X4 field piece. This was the first piece ordered changing the paint scheme to LYW. It was housed on 9/27/80 for $35,000. By 04/04, placed OOS by company, needed exhaust work, relief valve work, pump leaks, cab doors don’t shut properly, too much to maintain, not enough use in the borough. Sold to Spring City (Chester County) in 07/04. Refurbed and repainted, placed into service by them in 07/05. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 10-20-2006 I'm still finding some neat PA shots. I believe it was sold by the company - don't see it around anymore. Stauffer was a local builder from Lancaster County. 1960 Chevrolet C60/Howe, full cab, 750/500. The chassis was purchased from Shirks Garage-Paradise Chevrolet dealer, chassis sent to Howe on 2/15/60, delivered 7/60, total cost was $15,119. The booster tank was replaced in 1983. Sold in 1988 to a fire company in the western US. Kinzer info: 1986 International S1800/Pierce, full cab, 450/400/30, Int’l DT466, automatic, 6 KW Onan generator, purchased new for $101,702 through Domestic Fire Apparatus-Downingtown. For sale in late 2002, sold to North Madison Fire Company, Madison, IN. Left on 12/11/02. Keystone State Relics - BA000049 - 10-21-2006 Scott, I gave you some bogus info on the Paradise rig. It cost $15,878.It was housed 4/8/52, serial #505A1016. In 1987 judged more mechanically sound than the 1959 American LaFrance-retained as a reserve pumper. Avondale 1956 Dodge Power Wagon side step pickup, 250/150, 4x4 field piece. The chassis cost $2,341 and the body was built by company members and nicknamed "Pee Wee". It was sold out of the fire service in 1983 to Jack Dent of West Chester. Mr. Dent sold it in 1995 to an individual on Long Island. My notes do not show Oren touching this piece ? 1966 International VCO-196/Hahn, canopy cab, model HS-7-117, 750/750, delivered on 6/17/66, 285 HP gas engine. It was housed on 7/21/66 at a cost of $23,000. It was sold to a dealer in Texas in 1981. Brunnerville 1968 Ford C1000/Howe, full cab, 750/1000. Originally this unit was a demostrator painted a very light green color due to disputes at the Howe plant at the time, put into service in 2/69. It was repainted Ivory, 2.5 KW generator, 534 CI gas engine, 5-speed manual transmission. Replaced and sold in 1997. |
