For a boat in distress call about 6 PM on Monday. Lots of FDNY trucks on the hard surface, local VFD 4x4's made it out to the scene. Here are a few 'show the stripes' pix.

Point Breeze VFD (4x4) passes FDNY E329 after the boat got under way and left the scene.

TSU 2 (Technical Services Unit) is the second piece for R4. Note the crane on top for Zodiak launching.

Probably belongs in Other Emergency Vehicles But this NYPD Aviation unit satyed over the boat until they got under weigh (yes, that's how it's spelled) again. Then they buzzed the FDNY rigs. Here 'tis with the setting sun reflecting under the airframe. (Bless 'burst' - I got 16 pix in 3 seconds- but the camera was set for 1/60 sec which accounts for the blur at the tips pf the rotor).

Those are inflatables on the skids in case thy have to land in the water.

great shots Phil, thanks for sharing.

TSU 2, isn't that the Tatical Support Unit out of Staten Island with Rescue 5? or has it moved to Rescue 4 because of the floor being re-done at Rescue 5...

Thanks again!

Russell

TAC 2 (TSU 2) is STILL on SI. It gets assigned to ALL WATER JOBS in SI, South Brooklyn and some of Queens. Since this area is just over the Bay From Brooklyn they got the job.

The rigs are in a Fenced in Lot in front of the Firehouse. Rescue and E160 are under a tent.

This is a NORMAL response. The units you have is the FDNY's response. The area also is a response area for a Vol. FD that is in NYC (1 of 10). While they are dispatched to try to interveine the FDNY still dispatches the closest companies also.
