I was detailed to the 36's and we were a little discourged that the WC wouldnt let us make the rescue call with the tree on the car until you asked command if they needed us!!! good work on that to by the way!
Thanks for the comment. It was a little hectic for a while.
". Tomek does the county fire have some? I havent seen any red or white for that matter FIRE DEPT. chargers yet.

No, I am told that it is just the standard production line red for Ford in these years and models. Our local departments are just being too cheap to pay the extra for something non-standard.

As stated, I do not know what they are saving, but I hope they are making good use of it.
That is about red as you are going to get with Ford Motor Co. GM and Mopar have different shades too. Before you know it, you will have several different "reds" or something other in the fleet. We ran into that problem year’s back and switched to white for all no apparatus. Hard to tell a different shade of white unless you get some "creams" shades!

Unless you are buying a lot of sedans, vans, SUV’s, and having them painted a special color, the cost is very high for a few.

The explorers are too small for the BC’s. Richmond tried them and the Tahoe’s and went back to the Suburban model, for the room they needed.

That Pirsch/Pittman was 1 Truck's ride when it first came in, back around the Summer of 1969.

Memphis Fire Dept - l18clfd - 05-11-2008

what is the deal with "Dead Mans Row" why do they keep those trucks?

Memphis Fire Dept - Guest - 05-11-2008

They are not keeping them. They will be auctioned for pennies on the dollar, maybe pennies on the tens of dollars. They may even go cheaper than that.

In case you haven't noticed, BC's are currently running neck for neck with the SORT team in a battle for ultimate red headed step child of the MFD.

Memphis Fire Dept - Kevin Lackey - 05-11-2008

Kramer, ole man Baskin in Covington will probably buy them up and scrap them unless Larry Newsom or some other Collector steps up and saves them.

I sure hate to see the Old Hose Tender and the 66 and 70 Pirsch Customs go !

Memphis Fire Dept - Guest - 05-11-2008

Thanks for posting them for me, Looks like some of them rigs just need a little bit of TLC and some polish and paint and they would be like brand new.

Memphis Fire Dept - Kevin Lackey - 05-15-2008

Just digging around in the the folders, figured Id post a few working shots of Memphis apparatus.

Or perhaps Rescue 3 and Rescue 2

Memphis Fire Dept - Kevin Lackey - 05-15-2008
