Relics - Roto-Ray - 09-14-2013 Quote: Did you happen to see if the ex-Arlington County tower ladder was in service in Harrogate yet? Thanks! Micah and I found it in Winston-Salem a few weeks ago. It was inside a fenced in lot, so we were unable to get any specs. This was originally an Atlanta rig. After PFA bought it at auction and refurbed it, it was purchased by the Post VFD in Fort Oglethorpe, GA and ran as Engine 8. When Walker County formed their own FD (1996?), they took over eight Post VFD stations and that rig went to them. I can post an in-service shot of it and of the Sweetwater, TN C-95 tomorrow, I'm on the wrong computer tonight. Relics - Andrew2340 - 09-14-2013 Awesome!! Thanks for all the replies everyone! Y'all never fail to amaze me. Taylor, indeed the platform is in service at Harrogate. After being told it was parked in their parking lot, I drove all the way up there to shoot it and....it was parked inside the building, and nobody was there. That's my luck for you! Relics - Andrew2340 - 09-14-2013 Hopefully y'all can tell me more about this truck also! This truck has a pump with the pump panel and outlets formed into the sides of the truck bed and the suction intake formed into the step. This has to be indications of some older PA builder that I'm not familiar with. Sweetwater is C95F1632, and is thus not ex allentown Pa Relics - fyrfoto - 09-16-2013 Quote:Engine 8, Post VFD #4, Fort Oglethorpe, GA (retired)Does this have a Pierce rear body? I ask because of the drip rails on the body, the stainless steel fuel door, the rear fender style, it looks like a Pierce body. Relics - GA_Dave - 09-16-2013 Quote:Does this have a Pierce rear body? I ask because of the drip rails on the body, the stainless steel fuel door, the rear fender style, it looks like a Pierce body.I'm not going to say it is a Pierce body and I'm not going to say it isn't. Panama Fire Apparatus was the company that did the refurb and them and God are the only ones who would know for sure. PFA always removed all identifying emblems and labels from every rig the did, so there was nothing obvious. They often pieced together whatever parts they had on hand to complete a rig, so this very well could be a Pierce body or just the compartments. In original Atlanta form, it didn't have high-sides. I visited their facility one time and there were remains of numerous rigs scattered about, with various pieces missing. Relics - engine216 - 09-16-2013 I found this sitting in front of a beer store along Rio Grande Avenue in the Rio Grande area of New Jersey while headed down to Wildwood last week for the NJ State Firemen's Convention. It's a 1963 GMC/Great Eastern/Oren with serial number 1804. Relics - marco17 - 09-18-2013 Quote:Unknown Crown at Huntington Beach CA This is Crown F1838, originally of the San Marcos, CA FD. It was delivered white with a yellow stripe. It has been for sale a couple times in the last few years by private owners for usually a lot more money than it's actually worth. NEAR GREENVILLE , SC. ANYONE RECOGNIZE HER. DOORS WERE LOCKED, COULDNT FIND YEAR. Relics - John Kenealy - 10-08-2013 Found this 1959 Ford at a truck repair shop in Oswego County, N.Y. It's marked "K.F.F.D., N.Y." on the door, which must be King Ferry (Cayuga County) N.Y. (the only K.F. on my list). I couldn't get near enough to find out anything else. Relics - John Kenealy - 10-08-2013 In a much better location on the same lot, was this Ward LaFrance from Lee Center (Oneida County) N.Y. Relics - Guest - 10-13-2013 Another sad ending at Brookfield.
