I'm at the factory for a couple of days, and have looked it over. Awesome amount of ground ladders, and massive amount of compartment space as well. Not a lot of frills, but will make a good ladder company.

Curious to see how it will hold up at our slowest truck company here in Baltimore (lil joke to 15). If it holds up like our rosenbauer pumpers then it will be a good truck. We are pleased with the engines. We had the opportunity to test the ladder on a demo truck and it was wonderful.I know a lot of thought was put in designing it like having the super structure and aerial galvanized, taking the 4 inches of space the the roll ups lose in conpartments and placing it on outside and boxing that in helped create more space. Just to name a few.
Overall time will tell I guess

Just curious - how do the jacks work on this truck (they appear to be A-frame similar to a Seagrave) and what is the spread? Is the ladder a 500lb tip load?

I know it has nothing to do with how it will work on the job, but way to much unpainted surfaces diamond plate, roll-up's etc for my liking.
I'm thinking a few years if not 1 in service and she will look worn out no matter how well the members take care of her. It's not a knock against the way she will work just on the aesthetics. Even bright dip anodized diamond plate tarnishes eventually even more so in a fire service where it's exposed to water and elements constantly. With the cost difference between bright dip anodized ADP and regular ADP I'm thinking this is regular diamond plate, and if it's bright dip I wonder why not just paint as that's almost always very near the same cost.

The jacks are a modified A frame style. Thats a new design since truck 15 will be serving in a community that is very old and streets are very tight. The tip load is 500lbs. All bare metal you see is galvanized including the aerial. I agree that the diamond plate is going to tarnish over time.

I stopped by General Rosenbauer yesterday, as it was Saturday we could not get in so we looked through the windows. we did see the other Baltimore County Tiller, its definitely starting to take shape. Couldn't see much for the trailer portion of the rig but the cab looked good.
