All history credit for the previous posts goes to Retired Members, Jimmy Embrey and The Late Jackson Gerhart (RIP).
There are other excellent resources and historians that are always helpful, such as Retired and Current Members, The FFA, Local 36 "100 Years of Glory, and so on. But, Jimmy Embrey and The Late Jackson Gerhart are the standard by which all others are measured.
God Bless Them and Thank You for preserving "Our" history.

The FFA has always been very helpful to the members of the DCFD. I am not a member of the FFA, but their members helped me with photos for Rescue Squad 1's sitting room when I was a fireman at Squad 1. Whenever I was detailed to E31 I would spend hours going over the FFA displays on the second floor. Since the move to E3's quarters, I have not seen their museum. Someday, I hope that a former DC firehouse will become a DCFD/National Fire Museum.

Former Home of the Legendary DCFD Truckman Terry Burke, a.k.a. "The King"
This is NOT old E11, built as a Truck House then the Engine moved in later. (1940)
There are many former and current houses that started out as "Truck Only Houses"
(T4, T5, T6, T7, T10, T13, T15)

Truck 2 used to be quartered on New Hampshire Avenue off M St. NW along with the Second Battalion.

August 3, 1986 was my first tour at Ladder 11. IIRC, that is the oldest firehouse holding first line companies.
The Vigilant house on M Street has one of their firehouse dogs buried in the cornerstone of the building.
