Just a minor matter...in case anyone goes looking for them...Haz-Mat 1 -- E.60 -- L.19 are in South Philly at 2301 S. 24th Street.

Great pics. Love to see more Philly stuff.

Philadelphia, PA - Guest - 10-10-2006

Here are a couple more Philly trucks. These were taken at the beginning of September at the viewing/funeral for my father-in-law, Thomas Bitto. He was Captain at L.19 -- Haz-Mat 1 at the time of his passing from Colon Cancer. Served 32 years on the job, and was with HazMat 1 for most of the time that I knew him (over 11 years).

I don't have specs on the apparatus...only the pics that were taken outside the church...so if anyone knows more, please fill in the details.

First off...Engine 53:

And another:

BTW...I didn't take these. I was inside at the time with my wife and family and rather pre-occupied.

Thanks for the memories(has it really been almost 15 years???)

Back when those pictures were taken, E60/L19 and HM1 were located at 3031 Grays Ferry Ave, in West Philly, formerly Engine 47's quarters, which was disbanded. E47 has been re-established at 3031 Grays Ferry Ave since, when E60/L19 moved back to S Philly.

Here is another angle of the Ward LaFrance Crash unit from PIA - Foxtrot 1

It is a 1972 Ward (one of 2 that Philly bought).

Here are a few more of things I had laying around from Philly.

Tower Pumper 8 - 4th and Arch St. The US Mint is in the background.
