Here's a couple of pics from the Western New York fireman's convention parade held at Niagara Active Hose Co. in Niagara Falls, NY.

As you can see it rained just a little <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wacko' /> More like buckets ans sheets of rain. It wasn't bad till we hit Tonawanda, then the skies looked evil. Two of the guys you"ll see in this next picture Matt Kenyan and Mike Menth (Forks fireman) were riding in the jump seats when the rain came. Luckily Matt called one of his friends who lives up there and picked them up on the way before the rain got worse. From left to right Jen Kubala-Forks firefighter, Matt Kenyan-Forks firefighter, myself, my fiancee Rebecca, and Mike Menth-Forks firefighter.

I can't believe it's been since July that I haven't posted some pics of my truck. Pic 1 is from the Erie County Fair, Hamburg, NY back on Friday August 11, 2006.

That last pic is one of my favorites of my rig! That sign in front of my truck in the last pic was hand written by one of our older members at Doyle 1. It was nice to give a brief description of the truck and the story on it. The next pic is of the truck two dyas later helping my fire company put out the chicken barbecue pits.

This pic was from this past weekend. The JFK senior class wanted to use my truck for a float in the football homecoming parade, why not <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Well since september we got hit with a surprise storm, it got much colder, I attempted to do two more local parades for Halloween, $603.20 later it was time to put the truck away for the year. Oh ya that last part, let me explain. I was going to do the Halloween parades for my fire company Doyle #1 and my father in laws fire company bellevue Halloween week. Being that the weather got colder i would go start up the truck occasionally and take it around the block a few times. To make a long story short as i attempted to do the Doyle #1 Halloween parade my truck was experiencing electrical problems. The good news was I was able to nurse my truck back to my house, charge it up over night and take it to where i was storing it. The good news was that where i stored it at was also a truck repair center for big rigs. I explained the issu'e i was having with it and told them pull it in. It turned out my alternator was going and needed to be replaced. No $603.20 is not what the Alternator cost!!!!!! $313.00 for an Alternator, $45.00 for a regulator, 3 hours of labor @ $65.00 per hour and thats how you get your total bill of $603.20. Oh lets not forget wonderful NYS sales tax. It's pretty much what i budgeted for the repair and the good news was i didn't have to get it towed! Also this was the only problem i had with the truck all year.

On Saturday November 4th, 2006 I went to go put the truck away for the winter. It is stored in an old horse areana out in Clarence, NY off Goodrich rd. A horse what??????? I found this storage place through a relative and a friend of a friend. The guy i was dealing with for storage knows the owner of the property. i guess the gentleman also owns other properties in the area as well. They use to have a couple of horses but they decided to get rid of them. When you looked around this place it was amazing and you seen these were prize winning thourobreed's and they loved their horses. It mut have been difficult for the owners to say goodbye to them. It was interesting that i found this place because the place i stored the truck last winter sold it and bought a property in Lockport, NY next to harrison radiator. Lockport was little too far for me and I didn't like the acomadations they gave me last year. The new guy i'm dealing with was fantastic and the facilty was a big improvement as you can see from the pictures I'm posting.

First pic, where you see the edge of a boat being backed inside that green building is where my trucks is sitting now.

Pic # 2. the green building was the horse arena, the the building in the front was the stables. I tell you this what a difference that alternator made, i would have never made it from cheektowaga to clarence with that old alternator. The guys who did the work on the truck said it looks real clean under the cab and is a smooth running truck! I think the guys from Pine Hill and Silver Creek can pat themselves on the back for that one, or at the least the outfits who have done work on the rig over the years!

Last pic for the year. It's hard to believe next month I"ll have had the truck for a year. Best dam $600 I ever put down! I'd like to thank this time to thank anyone who has helped me out with any work on the truck whether it was the lettering, washing it, detailing it, supporting the purchase, doing maintenance, going to parades, using it for functions, forwarding pictures to help with restoral, etc. Without any of your help the truck would look like it does today. Hell if i didn't buy it I'd be posting pics on the relics page. Last pic from left to right: Kelly kubala, Jen Kubala-Forks firefighter, my fiancee Rebecca, Ziggy-fellow Doyle # 1 firefighter and the guy with the Chevy Avalanche in the pics. I hope all of you enjoyed the pics this year and i look forward to next April and doing it all over again!

I'd like to share this with you folks. I found this while at my station today. The article is from Thursday October 12, 1978 page 14 of a newspaper called the Examiner. I"ll let you folks read the article but basically it was a big fire prevention display from Wednesday of that week to Saturday. My truck is in the front of the apparatus to the right behind a late 70's Chevrolet station wagon. You can also see the word Pine as well. My truck was 3 years old when this picture was taken! If anyone has pics from this gathering or of my truck could you please post them I'd really appreciate it! I forgot who it was but someone or somewhere I seen pics of this gathering and it looked like the entire Town of cheektowaga's fire apparatus were on display at this event, truly remarkable! I wish we still did that today.

Hey everyone I just wanted to let you know I did have the truck out since the end of April. I have been real busy since then, thats why I haven't been as active in firepics lately. I'm also in the process of moving to Summerville, SC where I will be working for the new American La France corporate plant. I do have some pics to post up and I plan to get some of those up this weekend. Thank you very much for the complements on the truck. Have a great & safe idependance day <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> !

No I didn't sell it Kevin. My friend repo's vehicles where it sits. The reason it sits there is because I needed a home to put it. Coming home from a parade at the Shawnee Fire company back in late June the motor blew up on it. Thats why she's sitting outside. I bought a 1976 Ford C/Young from the Pekin Fire Company to do a motor swap to get mine going again. To make a long story short It's sad to say I may end up selling her and the Pekin truck due to lack of funds. I hate to do it but there are other things going on in my life right now, I just moved to Summerville, SC to work for American La France Corporate, and I am getting, married next June. If anyone is interested in her drop me an e-mail with potential offers.
