Advanced Life Support Unit
Is this an ambulance, or a non-transporting ALS unit?

Toneslider can confirm this, but it basically carries absorbent. It's a dump truck full of sand.

It's a reserve - One of three purchased.   IIRC they were originally assigned to Trucks 23, 26 and 28 (but I could be wrong).

However, one was recently put back in front line service at Truck 38 (ex-Englewood Station 23).

I believe Orlando has the same concept.

Yes, it is actually called "HAMER 3" and carries some foam and large amounts of absorbent for fuel spills.  Generally Truck 26 is responsible for staffing it when needed.  HAMER 2 is formally known as the Dangerous Goods Response Unit and housed at Denver International Airport.

CSFD calls it Squad 108 and it is a non-transporting ALS unit that is now in reserve status.  It was purchased to provide a climate controlled area for firefighter rehab.
