What camera do you use ? - firesafe91 - 04-24-2015 I joined the Olympus club after shooting Nikon full frame for several years. I'm now shooting with two OM-D E-M1s (with battery grips), a 14-40 f/2.8 and a 40-150 f/2.8. The build quality of these cameras and lenses is top notch. The reduced weight associated with a micro 4/3 system was also a big factor in my decision to switch systems. The 5-axis image stabilization on these cameras rocks. On a recent rip to Australia, I shot some handheld images of the iconic Sydney Harbor bridge and opera house at 1/8 second, f/5.0 at ISO 3200. The resulting images are extremely sharp and vibrant. What camera do you use ? - GA_Dave - 04-28-2015 Some of you guys are really into your cameras! (I had to dig mine out to see what it was) From 1989 to 2005, I used a Canon T70 with a 28-70 lens, then later a 35-80 lens. It went into reserve/parade duty when I bought a Canon Rebel XSn with a 35-80 lens. The zoom lens keeps me out of the traffic lanes! As many of you know, I was dragged, kicking and screaming, into the digital world in the fall of 2012. I was no longer able to find a photo lab that would print 3.5" x 5", the standard I have used since 1981. I purchased a Canon Rebel T3 with a 18-55 lens and a dedicated Canon iP4920 photo printer. The results have been satisfactory. Factoring in the cost of paper and ink, my costs are about equal to developing/printing film. There isn't a thing wrong with either of my two Canon film cameras. I would be perfectly content if I were still using them. What camera do you use ? - 129k - 04-29-2015 Quote:I just bought a Nikon D3300....huge upgrade from the iPhone 5C. I lugged all that stuff around for 50 years until my first digital in 2001. It was an Olympus C2100UZ. 2.1MP with a nice long zoom. Now I use a Fuji X-S1 with a 24 to 624 zoom, 12 MP, but I shoot at only 6 MP. I find it such a pleasure to carry just my 24 to 624 zoom and no need to worry about which lens to put on, etc. I only carry a spare battery and an SD card in my pocket and more in the car. Not good enough, you say? I've had some stuff in Firehouse and hundreds in our publications. And 2 days ago, they had all the companies that were at our recent fatal fire come to a critique using 25 or 30 of my photos. What camera do you use ? - edburke - 06-22-2015 Absolutely nothing wrong with the prosumer P&S cameras that are out there now. I have a Canon in the wife's car that produces some images that are just as good as what I get from my Olympuses. I do, however, have a hard time shooting handheld at night with no flash at a long lens length, which isn't a problem with my main cameras. What camera do you use ? - DualReverse - 06-29-2015 Was a Canon guy for a long, long time. Now run with a Pentax K-5. I've got a kit 18-55 and found an old Asahi 70-300, but my favorite is a manual 50mm 2.8. Also have a used 12-24 Promaster housebrand with a 77MM mouth. Really happy with the waterproof seals on the K5. What camera do you use ? - nozzleman - 01-17-2016 CANON EOS REBEL T5 WITH A 18-55MM LENS AND 70-300 MM LENS WITH FILTERS. He does NOT photograph apparatus or fire scenes , but uses it for general photography . How has your T5 worked out for you? I have been using my T3 for four years now. I would still be just as content using my old film camera . RE: What camera do you use ? - MattW - 03-29-2018 Canon 300D with 28-80 (my primary lens,) Canon 18-55 & 80-200, and ProMaster 100-300mm.
