Yes Michigan still runs the single beacon on the roof and they put A LOT of light. Very easy to see in the day time and night time.

Not only do they still use them, They are custom made for the Michigan State Police. They now have it in LED. No lie I saw it myself when in Detroit earlier this year.

When the original Unity rotating motor/lamp assemblies fail, they are replaced with custom Whelen multi-LED modules capable of multpile flash patterns which are mounted in the original Unity base/dome assembly.
