I don't know if those are actually offset or not... But Dallas used to offset theirs to provide better sound coverage to the sides. Not sure how well it actually worked, but in theory it seems like its a good idea.

D.C.F.D. angled their's to "bounce off" the buildings and better side-street coverage. I saw some angled Dallas before.

I got a little nervous when they pulled it out for me, I thought it was going to scrape. I was able to stand in the bay door and look down the ladder, Its a very steep apron.
