Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 This next batch of pics refer to Posts # 3988, 3989, 3990 and 4000. Sorry it took so long for me to dig them up and scan them. Back in the early days of radio in the fire service, there existed a regional dispatch center in the Armstrong/Westmoreland County areas of Pennsylvania. Each participating FD was assigned a color for identification purposes. Since many of these FD's worked side by side under mutual aid agreements, the colors were often used to keep track of what belonged to who. The dispatch center became known as "Rainbow Control". Several of the participating FD's went so far as to paint their apparatus in their assigned colors. Here are several examples: Engine 1, Parks Township, PA Ford C/Pirsch 750/500 "The Green Dragon" Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 2, Parks Township, PA Ford C/Central 500/500 "The Green Giant" Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 3, Parks Township, PA Dodge W-300/????? 500/200 4x4 "The Green Phantom" Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 1, Hose Company #2, Apollo, PA Oren 750/300 Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 2, Hose Company #2, Apollo, PA Ford C/American Fire Apparatus 750/500 Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Squrt 20, Hose Company #2, Apollo, PA Ford C/Pierce 1250/500/50' Telesqurt Keystone State Relics - Guest - 03-26-2009 Apollo was actualy "pink" company Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 1, Markle, PA Ford/Fire Master 750/500 4x4 "The Gray Fox" Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 2, Markle, PA Ford L-9000/Pirsch 750/500 "The Gray Hound" Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Brush 1, Markle, PA Ford/??? 125/200 4x4 Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 03-26-2009 Engine 1, G.G.
