I am not sure whose ride this is but I would gladly run around in this thing. The LED warning lights are mounted inside the windshield line on unmarked squads....

Also to be replaced at National at some point in the near future are two other units. First, one of the two Boston Whalers with be replaced with probably a SAFE Boat of roughly the same size without a cabin. Second, the mobile command post will be replaced, specs are not yet out however, it will probably be equiped to be used as a back-up dispatch center should the primary dispatch center at National is out of operation.

Longer term is discussion of replacing the Hazmat unit at 301 and when it is replaced moving the vehicle to 302 to replace the step van now being used as the Tunnel Rescue unit vehicle.

Just to show how big Station 302 is you have to go back quite a long distance to allow the entire station to make it into the picture.....

Foam 301 repositioning on field....

To meet Index C requirements National needs to have two staffed ARFF units at all times. National provides a unit for White House quite a few times during the year. When they do they staff with third ARFF unit at 301 with staffing from the Engine.

DC Fire usually is the unit stationed on the southlawn while the MWAA unit normally positions outside the gates of the WH on the Elipse.

I do occasionally shoot a medic rig but normally only when they get in the way of me shooting such as having to respond on a run. Here is Medic 301 responding to mutal box ALS emergency off field at the River House in Crystal City. Roughly half of Medic 301's call are mutual boxes.

Larry, while they retain their old numbering on the units the unit at national is used by EMS 301 the National Airport EMS Supervisor and the unit at Dulles is EMS 302 which runs from Station 303 and is the Dulles Airport EMS Supervisor. They will be replaced later this year with a more traditional EMS suprvisor type vehicle.

I need some advice. I shot the previous pictures on normal Cannon digital SLR with a Tamron lense. I got a 7X zoom Nikon Coolpix 14.1 megapixel pocket camera for Christmas and brought it with me to try out. The following 6 shots were taken with the Coolpix camera. How do they look compared to the full on digital SLR with the Tamron lense?
