Where did you see the MTA 'rescue,' on the Ferarra site?

NYPD - Rollup - 12-06-2007

Looking for a rear shot of the 2002 International 7400 series Saulsbury Malt 4 truck.

Any help would be appreciated!

just so there is no confusion, it is listed as NYC Transit. not MTA Police. Just wondering what transit will use it for, maybe as a command post, as I do not think they have one now?

Hi

Went to check the progress of this unit and found that it is completed. Here is a link, you may have to scroll down and find NYPD. Lists the specs on the right hand side. Doesn't look like a ESU Big Truck, but who knows, does appear to follow the design of a Haz-Mat unit.

Should be enroute to the NYPD by now!

Happy New Year

alright can someone explaing all these crazy light bar devices that seem to be attached to all of the non patrol vehicles...they have atleast 10 auxiliary spotlight white and colored what are they for?

Also why does nypd still use rotary red and white triangle shaped light bars?

The "device", as you call it, is known as a McDermott High Riser bar. In it's resting (mobile) state, the two arms cross across the roof. When activated, its two arms uncross and, as a result, the arms stand up (I believe about 4' or so). This provides longer range warning, making the vehicle visible for longer distances.

As for the V bars, to my knowledge, NYPD has transitioned over to the Solaris (a Federal Signal brand name for one of their LED styles) version of the Premium Vision (Vision SL, I believe it's called).

Although these are a different model, they are similar in function:

1st a lightbar in the lowered position:

And the lightbar in the raised position (hope this helps):
