Rob, you could not be more right. I spent 27 years of my life there. It was great hanging out there as a kid when the paid man was on duty there. I grew up a half of a block away from there. The old times were great.

I thought that truck was a little older than a 1987. Maybe a 1982? If not did they have one from the 70s prior? I saw a News Clip from 1985 on YouTube with an almost identical truck.

Keystone State Relics - EngineMan - 04-13-2009

Truck 7 is a 1982.

You could be right on that. For some reason, Ithought it was a 87. Thanks.

Tarentum Mack C/? ladder. I believe this is also collector owned now.
Cool rig. One of my professors in college was originally a volunteer from Tarentum and I remember him talking about this rig. I think he said it had a Maxim aerial but I could be wrong. I'd love to see more pics of this truck if anyone has them.

Originally had the 707 C Thermodyne gas engine. When Kenco did the refurb which started in the fall of 1991, they dropped a Detroit in it with an Allison auto.

Steve,

I believe Page Lambert did the refurb on the Canonsburg aerial.

This one is still in service with Charleroi.
If I am not mistaken, I thought the ladder was replaced on this rig.

Keystone State Relics - e290l103 - 04-14-2009

it was!

1974 D75047 SR20768 Charleroi, Pennsylvania PA 100' Rearmount 1974 Seagrave/2002 Seagrave Rehab Aerial From D75032

the aerial came from an old FDNY rig SL7429 Ex-L49. this rig was later sold to Yarmouth, MA. unknown if the ladder refurb was done after the rig left service in Yarmouth, or before. at any one time Seagrave has several rebuilt aerials in stock and can swap them out. they then rebuild the swapped unit and so on... this is why I check the serial on the aerial itself when I shoot Seagrave aerial ladders. the number up top should match the one on the plate, if not, it was refurbed.

you are getting slow! lol

Ladder 4, Lyndora VFC, Butler Township, Butler County. I saw this truck in Elmira when it was without the stick and Lyndora was looking to buy it it. They kept it until a few years ago, maybe 5, not sure where it went.

Homestead, Pa. ALF Century ladder. Not the greatest pic but you can see the ladder failed. After this Homestead returned the truck to ALF. Homestead went without a ladder truck for years after this happened. The truck was repaired by ALF and sold to another dept. in Western Pa. I believe someone posted a pic of it in another thread.
Keystone State Relics - Guest - 04-15-2009

Mike,

I have a slide of the Lyndora truck before heading to Homestead. I'll see if I can get it scanned. Get ahold of me. I have a Pittsburgh trip planned for Thursday, and Friday.

This Rig is getting ready to come out of the Restoration shop. I'll have pictures of it when it is done.

Then mine will go in and come out with it's original colors <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Luxhello' />
