Great, great info. Glad FDNY was pro-active.

I am going to be back in New York for about a week from September 9th. Last time i was there was July, just wondering if there are any new deliveries in Manhattan that I should look out for?

Thanks

Keep in mind one other thing. If you make something bigger and heavier. The trucks will be slower. The FDNY runs with a 96" W cab. That's starts to become a bigger problem once you go up in Horse Power. You can't keep the engine and tranny cool. Detroit and Cummins Both have engines that are 600 HP. They will not fit in to these types of trucks.

Not enough room. They are tight now. The new TL are just about 80,000 empty. Go add equipment and men to them. It will never drive like a race car or handle like the FF want them to be.

Talk to any one in the rescues Co. They like the ALF Rescue. ( think it's used as R-6 ) That truck moves. The big difference in that truck is the aluminum. That is a lot lighter then stainless steel.

Doesn't the FDNY have a performance spec that each truck has to pass before they except them?
