Does anyone by any chance have any photos of the past pumpers of Phoenix engine 19 at the airport?

Quote:One of the very few TDA's left in Metro Phoenix.

Phoenix Reserve 1999 ALF/1990 LTI 90' TDA (running as Ladder 4).

One of four delivered, these were originally equipped with long wheelbase Spartan Baron tractors in 1990.  However, these rigs were too long to fit in some stations and were re-tractored by ALF in 1999/2000.  They're in reserve now (not sure how many of the four are left - I've verified two of them, at least).

I think we bought one of the four of these. We are not finding much history on our rig because it didnt come with any paperwork. You dont by chance have any info on these rigs. The one we bought was at one time ladder 20. We thought it was a 1999 ALF / LTI but it may be a 1999 ALF / 1990 LTI.

Four were bought in 1990. They had LTI 90 ladders and Spartan Baron tractors that were unique because they had rear bus doors. IIRC two went to Ladders 11 & 20; unsure about the other pair (Im thinking maybe L-12 and L-22 might have gotten the others, but thats only my speculation). By the late 90s they determined that the tractors were just too long, so they retractored them with ALF Eagle tractors.

Heres a photo of Ladder 11 when it was new.

Do you know when the had the Spartans replaced by ALF eagles was any work done to the trailers? The reason I ask is our trailer has the last compartment that has been shortened.

here it is as of last week. Its a work in progress.

There were either: 1) Two versions of the trailer, or 2) Modifications made sometime after they were delivered. Heres one I took in 2012...

Carefully comparing your photo with mine, I absolutely believe yours is ex-Phoenix, but is not the exact rig I shot in 2012. They have different style windows on the back cab wall.

Yes I believe they used both 1999 and 2000 ALF Eagle chassis. I think the 2000 had larger windows. We do know for a fact ours is EX Phoenix, AZ fire ladder 20.When we bought it, it still had all of the Phoenix decals. On the roll up door on the Chassis you can make out L20. The sun has baked the decals into the paint, and to our best attempts wont come off. That dose not matter because all of the Phoenix Decals will be replaced. The one surprise was Phoenix left all of the city of Phoenix radios in the rig.

RE: Phoenix Metropolitan Area Fire Apparatus - Image7801 - 09-26-2019

Here is Phoenix's new LT1, which has been in service a few months.

It's a 2019 Freightliner M2 with a Phoenix Fire shop-built body.  They did a nice job on it.  It's running most of the calls downtown these days, taking the wear off the regular Ladder 1 (2009 Pierce Velocity 100' RMT).

LT1 was on the apron this morning with a reserve tiller (only two left) running as Ladder 1 (2000/1990 ALF/LTI 100').

E2 and E1 were also outside, but they are the usual mid-2000's ALF Eagles that are slowly being replaced by the Pierce rigs.

How many Emergency one Hushes that were bought by Phoenix had the vista cab and how many had the bus doors and also how many Spartan/Van Pelts had the vista cab and if possible does anyone have any pics they could please post of these engines?

RE: Phoenix Metropolitan Area Fire Apparatus - Image7801 - 03-05-2020

Peoria just added it's 13th Rosenbauer rig to the fleet.  That makes all eight front line and three (of four) reserve pumpers Rosenbauer models (5 Commanders, 5 Spartan/Rosenbauers, 1 Freightliner/Rosenbauer), plus Ladder 191's Commander MMT and Ladder Tender 191's Freighliner/Rosenbauer rescue.  Just for fun I've included E-191's last two rigs, both of which were (or will be) handed down to E-196.

Does anyone have any photos of the 1980s-1990s Glendale Engines and Ladders such as their Spartan/Vanpelt,1986 E\-One hurricane 110' ladder, and any others that served them in the 80s and 90s?
