Ever heard of the Joanna Fire District, Micah? This is in Laurens County, SC... They just got a big Freightliner cab-over/Swab heavy rescue from FireTec a few months ago also.

Crusin' Carolina - Andrew2340 - 04-28-2010

Definitely count me in on that trip as well! I'd love to get the orange ex-Roebuck, SC Spartan/FMC engine, and I believe North Greenville's old Freightliner 4dr/Sutphen is serving down there in Laurens County somewhere now as well...

Found This American Lafrance Ladder parked in front of Chic-Fil-A at Cherrydale Shopping Center in Greenville. About 2 Blocks from my house. I believe it is there to promote the new Spicy Chicken sandwich (Coming soon). This truck used to be parked at the local American LaFrance dealer, before they went bankrupt. I believe it is a 2006 model.

Former Chester, SC "Ladder 141" Something happened to the truck and ALF had to build Chester a brand new one to replace it. I shot this truck through the chainlink fence at the ALF dealer you speak of.

Off topic I know, but it would be nice to have a Chick-Fil-A near home. The closest is a mall unit at 20 miles but the shortest to a regular restaurant is about 60 miles.

If I might shed some light on the former Chester ALF. It was working a mill fire in Chester County. She worked the site for a number of days as did numerous units and FF's. Where she was set up was a bad spot as she endured very harsh chemicals without relief. Caused severe damage to the internal works of pump, ladder, and motor. The insurance company had to total it and Chester purchased a new ALF. Now as far as the dealership (I used to work for them) there was a split between the main money person and the fire sales mgr. The fire sales mgr took ALF with him. The money guy was not good to work for whatsoever. I left shortly thereafter taking ambulances away. He still owns big truck dealership.

Shot quite a variety of rigs yesterday. For once, I stayed in Greenville county, rather than going cross country. First is a few from Brasier-Fest. a local FF competition. I was hoping for more trucks, but happy with what I got.

From the local Spaamfa. is this 1952 Mack. Serves as a parade unit for North Spartanburg, SC. It was originally from Mohican Lake or Springs ( cant remember which) NY.
