Quite an impressive rig Mike, thanks!

A couple of newer deliveries in Loudoun County.

Rescue 607 is a 2011 Pierce Arrow XT with job number 24334.

The new Rescue 607 replaces an older Pierce squad that was originally Rescue 603 in Middleburg. From Middleburg it went to Aldie as Rescue 607. With the 2011 Pierce Arrow XT now in service as Rescue 607, the older Pierce is now a county reserve squad.

I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph again Engine 607 from Aldie.

The crew at FS 7 were fantastic. They offered to take Rescue 607 to a golf course in the first due area for photos. Engine 607 cross staffs the Rescue, so they brought both.

Engine 607 is a 2007 Smeal Sirius 1500/750/20 with s/n 703050.

Another newer delivery to Loudoun County is a Medical Care Support Unit. A variety of metropolitan D.C. area departments have received these trucks with funds made available from a federal grant.

Loudoun County's truck is designated MCSU 614 and is housed at the Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad - Station 14.

Although a county unit, the volunteers will staff the MCSU.

Love the new paint scheme As always, GREAT shots!

I made arrangements to drop by the Loudoun County apparatus shop in Ashburn to get some photos. Before we did that, we went by old Fire Station 23 (in the same complex) and visited the Fire Marshal's office.

Bomb Disposal 600 is this 2010 Spartan Metro Star ER/Rosenbauer and is one of six ordered throughout the Metropolitan D.C. area under the Council of Government (COG).

Intentionally left "plain" with little lettering.

Supporting the larger Spartan/Rosenbauers are smaller bomb disposal trucks.

My understanding is that each department that received the larger Spartan also received the smaller truck, so there should be a total of six in the Washington D.C. metro area.

Loudoun's is Bomb Disposal 660 and is a 2011 Ford F550/Knapheide.

Again, no lettering or decals on the truck is on purpose. Of the six trucks delivered, Loudoun's trucks are the only ones with little to no lettering.

The guys from the FM office were having fun with the photos and wanted their "toys" included - this one with a couple of their robots that are kept in the larger truck.

After the FM Office, a quick ride to the apparatus warehouse within the same complex allowed me to get caught up on some photos.

This is Engine 699, a reserve engine for the county. It originally was delivered to the county training center and was the first new engine for the training center. While at the training center, it had a clear pump panel so students could see the plumbing behind the pump. It then went to run as Engine 16 at Neersville where the pump panel was switched out. After Engine 16, it became a ready reserve for the county. One of its first longer term assignments was to run as Engine 623 in Ashburn after the county took over operations at that station. It was at Fire Station 23 until a new Pierce engine arrived, and then this Pierce went back to doing reserve duty.

Engine 699 is a 2002 Pierce Enforcer 1250/750 with job number 12990. It is kept at the apparatus warehouse in Ashburn when not being used.

Loudoun County prefers the Ford F/Horton ambulances for its county fleet.

Ambulance 698 is one of two reserve ambulances kept at the warehouse and is a common example of what the county is ordering.

My main reason for my visit to the warehouse was for the new Tanker 618. This new tanker is close to being placed into service and it will be assigned to Sterling's Cascade station.

Tanker 618 is a 2012 Mack Granite/Pierce 1500/3000 with job number 24529.

Final photo for this update.

This is the new Battalion Chief 601, a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban outfitted by Fastlane. It is painted in the new county colors. BC 601's home is Fire Station 22 in Ashburn-Lansdowne.

Nice Pics Mike.

Looks like I need to make it back to Loudoun.

Any idea if BC602 or 603 have gotten new rides? The last ones I saw them in were 03 Suburbans, and I know 601s previous was an 07.

I believe BC 601 is the first. I have driven by Purcellville Fire and saw an older BC buggy painted white/red stripes.
