Close but it is a duel harp Security pedestal. There is a fire alarm box on one side and a police box on the other. The box looks like a instructional box.

This Grumman Step Van used to serve the Robert-Fulton Fire Company as Squad-513. I have no idea if this rig is still there or not, as this pic was taken in 2003 on one of my many roadtrips for my work. From what I remember of that particular roadtrip, this FD was on the PA/MD border, but I don't remember what county, or the road it was on.

The Robert Fulton Fire Department is in Wakefield, Pa in the very southern end of Lancaster County, Pa... they just bought a Piece rescue truck from the Somerset, Pa Fire Department and redid their firehouse. This piece is what it replaced (as far as I know)... I could be wrong though as they had 2 bread truck pieces and it might have been the other that got replaced.

I did have it in my notes that it was destroyed in a fire in 1976. does anyone have any insight into that?

Steve,

There web site was on THE Watch Desk but haven't seen it lately!! According to the info on there it was still in service along with the FOX!!!

Keystone State Relics - Guest - 04-29-2009

Mike,

The engine was never destroyed in a fire. I photographed it in 2005 when I was out. The day I stopped they stated that it had been sold, and weren't going to pull it out until I pleaded with them. lol. It was in excellent condition at the time.

Mike,

I think you finally got me on one. lol. I never knew that the Ben Avon rescue was bought from Braddock. Thanks for posting that photo.

Keystone State Relics - Guest - 05-03-2009

Here's another shot of Castle Shannon's 'famous' 1969 ALF Aerochief 1000/?/ 90'. A favorite since I first saw it in 1974.
Fritz, that mess was originally from Middleborough VFD in Baltimore Co.,MD. It was first a 76 Ford C-8000/Oren 1000/1000 that had a Spartan cab put on it in 87, then in 1990, Mason Dixon replaced the body. Fountaindale got it around 1995, and I shot it in 1997 at the Cumb. Valley convention in Waynesboro. It was replaced by the current ET3.
Your welcome, Dave, but I don't think you missed much <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Lol' /> I need to get a print of the 75 WLF Ambassador from Bowen - my 1st visit to Fountaindale was in 1989 when they had just brought it back from Folcroft. The 42 and 58 Macks were both in service then.

Another Pennsy favorite is this 1979 Sutphen/87 J.C.Moore 1500/300/100' that 1st served Empire H&L of Carlisle, and was last seen at the Neshannock Twp VFD, in Lawrence County.

Warren,

You forgot to mention that the cab on Fountaindale E5-1 was originally Eastport VFC of Annapolis, MD.

Eastport E361 was involved in a wreck during 1989 and it was replaced with a 1989 Spartan Gladiator

cab. The original 1987 Spartan cab was used by Mason Dixon in the rehab of the Middleborough Ford/Oren

in 1990.
