Prince William County VA - fighttheenemy666 - 12-12-2013 MCS 524 is the West end mass casualty support unit. Formerly assigned to FS 8, it's capable of treating 50 patients. This unit is cross-staffed by the engine crew. Canteen 524 was purchased by the various volunteer departments in Battalion 1. There is a single volunteer operator for this unit. Prince William County VA - fighttheenemy666 - 12-12-2013 Interesting set-up at FS 25. The engine and medic unit are staffed 24/7. If a volunteer crew comes in to staff the engine, the career staff moves over to staff the Tower. Because of that, this unit is staffed most nights and weekends. Prince William County VA - fighttheenemy666 - 12-12-2013 The Training Academy has a variety of different engines. E519 is this Ferrara, this was the first engine purchased by the County. Prince William County VA - fighttheenemy666 - 12-12-2013 That's all I've got. I will leave you all with the former Truck 1. Now owned by the Local 2598, this Seagrave ladder truck was the first truck bought by the County. Any others with information are welcome to chime in. Prince William County VA - VFN102 - 12-13-2013 Quote:E505C is the reserve engine for stations 5 and 25. This Seagrave is a great truck to ride in.I'm sorry they did away with the Wagon designation....an unfortunate COG casualty. Prince William County VA - Engine504Driver - 12-13-2013 Quote:BC516 is this Chevy Suburban.Just FYI, there is no Battalion 516.....The volunteer Chief Officers of FS516 use this vehicle, actually taking turns with other Battalion 4 stations as Battalion 504 during night/volunteer hours. The FRA (Fire and Rescue Association, volunteer and career leadership) developed this new standardized Engine spec (including the unique indented ladder storage). The intent is to have the pump module and body be laid out the same in all future purposes. The individual company can choose the cab manufacturer. And E503 and E503B Prince William County VA - fighttheenemy666 - 12-19-2013 Quote:Wonder if it's EMS licensed and available to pressed into service in event of large emergency? It cannot be used as a transport unit. The unit carries a couple of bags and a mannequin/equipment for the mannequin, that's it. EMS Ops used to lug all of their equipment around in an old Suburban, this is a huge upgrade just in terms of space available.
