Robert, Good photos of the additions. I like the One - Four's ride. Maybe, the Three - Four will get one of the next!! The fire boat looks great. The old Four - Six pumper looks good, it doesn't look too long having a fresh coat of paint applied. I did notice that the old mechanical siren was gone. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/22_yikes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='22_yikes' />

Maybe to find a new home at the Three – Fours! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' />

The busier companies get the newer rides. It’s always been that way!!

Thanks for the photos. With the new Arrow XT's going in service at E14, E16 and E20, are the previously mentioned "Re-assignments" still effective? 14's to E15, 16's to E46 and 20's to E24?

Thanks in advance.

Not Sure. Thats one of the things you don't believe until you see them back it into quarters. Know what I mean?

Memphis Fire Dept - Ladder 68 - 08-06-2008

I totally understand. And even then, that is no gaurantee. Ha ha.

Memphis Fire Dept - Kevin Lackey - 08-06-2008

I was told the 24's was getting the old 14's pumper...But like Kramer said, ya never know. I just hope they dont have the problems out of the E\-One as they did with the Pierce, I know they had quite a few problems with the pump for a while.

Old 46's (F-370) has allegedly been given to the fire museum. Although, I doubt if it will EVER see the inside of 118 Adams as long as Brier Turner works there.

Old Snorkel 2 (F-121, 1969 Pirsch) that is rotting on the drill field, was also given to the museum, but will died a slow rusty death. Once again, because of Brier Turner.

You know what - I am sick to my stomach...signing off!

I hate to see old apparatus die so slow like this. Bill what can we do to get this person to $hit or get off the pot?

BTW tell us how you really feel on the rants and raves thread! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/computer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Computer' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' />

Bill I guess being tied up with the museum is better than Don Baskins getting them.

Larry,

According to the shop Manager, as of yesterday:

E15 will get old E14

E46 will get old E20

E45 will get old E16

Also, 2 E\-One trucks are set to arrive anyday. They will go to T10 and T18 with the current T10 to replace T21. T18 will go into reserve status. One Pierce rearmount is on order to replace the 75' Snorkel at T29 with one additional Pierce truck to begin after delivery of the first - not sure where it will go.

Memphis Fire Dept - Ladder 68 - 08-07-2008

Thanks for the heads up and corrections. Thanks a lot. Atleast ya'll have stuck with good trucks (E\-One). With the Pierce pumpers ya'll should have a good fleet.

Be safe.

The E\-One trucks came through Senatobia this afternoon, probably for fuel, so they should be in Mempho now.

At least from a recent history perspective, this piece of apparatus might be one of the better kept secrets of the MFD. It is still quartered at the 54's, in great shape, lettered for Engine 54. Engine 54 is currently assigned a Pierce telesquirt as their engine, and I believe this engine is technically considered the second piece of Engine 54, although it is not used. I believe this rig is also considered by some to be Hose Tender 3, however I really don't think it is used as a hose tender either. Out of all the American La France engines Memphis had, this is really the only one left still mostly equipped as a pumper.
