I thought Richmond was the one that had 3 Rescues, two were getting replaced with Rescues, and the other was being replaced with a PUC Engine or something of the sorts, was this not them?

Trav!

Richmond did have 3 Heavy Rescues...................2 were replaced about 2 years ago and the third was to become a PUC Engine but that was changed to a Standard Pumper which was then given to a Engine Company. Rescue 2 still kept their original Rescue and Richmond will be going back to only 2 Rescues in the near future. Rescue 3 Rig which is only 2 years old will become Rescue 2 and Rescue 3 will be disbanding soon, so only 2 Rescues will remain in Richmond in a few weeks. Any corrections welcome.

As of today Richmond still runs with 3 Rescue Companies. They bought two Arrow XT's in 2012 and were assigned to Rescue 1 and 3. Rescue 2 had been slated to be disbanded at that time. Things change as it usually does in FD's. Rescue 3 2012 rig was swapped with Rescue 2's 1997 rig. Rescue 1 moved from fire house 1 to fire house 13. Rescue 3 is at fire house 22 as a temporary moved while the 13's house was completely renovated.  Rescue 3 will be disbanded as of 0800 January 7, 2014, leaving two Heavy Rescues in the city. The rig they are operating with will become a Reserve Rescue and will be quartered at fire house 1. All the Haz Mat apparatus will be kept at fire house 22 and will be operated by the members of Truck 22. Photos of all these rigs are herein this tread or the Richmond, VA thread.

Rescue 2's 1997 rig that is sitting at 22 will not be a reserve unit.  It is now serving as a replacement for the Hazmat rig that is being purged from the fleet.  From what I understand, some minor in house refurbishment of some shelves and such will take place and this piece will run along with the box truck on Hazmat assignments.

Engine 7 is one of four rigs that share similar specs, including the large grill numbers and speedlays (neither of which are used any longer).  The others are assigned to Engines 5, 6, and 8.

Who did the rechassis?  Might have someone in Fairfax with one they want to do - would like to know who's had luck with rechassising a Medic Master.  Ours was in bad enough shape that it wasn't worth doing but there might be one or two off the last volunteer M2 order left that are worth it.
