Crabtree is located a couple miles northeast of Greensburg. The rig is a 1000/1000. They no longer sport the white/cream paint, new rigs are white/red. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-19-2006 Keystone State Relics - mnsand - 12-19-2006
<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Scott, the Rivermont tanker pictured is actually from Warren County, VA. I photographed a Freightliner/Fouts tanker there in 1995, so perhaps Mike Sanders can help out with this one. Airville, PA. not my pic, but it's a 1981 Ford F-700/FMC 1000/750 The Latrobe rig is a real mystery? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> "Red Wings" indeed - ain't it amazing the wild phrases that stay with you over the years!? i.e.: "slapper","not the mama","we don't stop till the sun goes down"!
That is indeed Rivermont, Virginia in Warren County. The info I have is a 1964 International Loadstar/Columbian 500/2400. Thanks for sharing that photo Scott. Mike Sanders Ashburn, VA Keystone State Relics - firemedicmo - 12-20-2006 The Latrobe truck was run as Rescue 2 out of the central station until they replaced it with a used Rescue Squad from somewhere in Fairfax. For some reason I think it was from Fair Oaks bur MSand would probably know better. I'm not sure of the make of the truck or of its disposition. Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 12-20-2006 Quote:The Shafton FC of North Huntingdon Township, PA ran this American LaFrance Pioneer pumper with retrofitted head lights.Believe 1969 or 1970 (but I've been wrong before <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ), originally all red. It ran up until the early 00's when it developed very bad transmission problems. It was sold to a contractor in Irwin, Westmoreland County, in 2005. Quote:The Hartford Heights FC of North Huntingdon Township, PA has/had this 1949 Ford F/Howe pumper. Check out the flames on the fenders. Front line service until 1977 when they purchased their Pemfab/E-One, ran as a parade until until 2003/2004 when it was sold to make room for their new rescue engine. The private individual who owns it is still in the SW PA area. Please keep them coming! On second thought, good chance it was from Luray, Va. Dave Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 The Crabtree Ford-Hamerly was just sold in July to a dept in the midwest. Yea their new rigs are white over red that creame color was definitely interesting Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-20-2006 |
