Engine #7 Driver Side. The section that you see that is closest to the camera was originally a 7 story training tower. The top four floors were knocked off and it is now a storage area for the shop.

Didn't his "edit" in time...

Old Watch Desk at Station #7. Note the red rotary Desk Phone. The house gong was an indicator type, but the indicator had not been hooked up in years. The house gong did work, though. The base radio was on the 154.190mhz system. The unit on top of the radio was the "Silent Watch" system. It was actually controlled from dispatch. The box on the left of the desk was the old box card file system. Every box in the city was listed on cards in the file.

This station was build on the grounds of the Great Southeastern Fair. The area is now known as Lakewood Fairgrounds. You may know it as the "HiFi Buys Amphitheater". I don't know if this station ever had a city number or what equipment ran out of it. I do know that it was staffed by AFD personnel. I have been told that there was also a first aid station there that was staffed by nurses. You can imagine what type of stories I've heard...

This was the air unit at one time. Sorry for the bad shot. It was about a '76 Chevy with a shop built body. Anyone have any firm information? (GaDave?)
