Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007
Nope not bad looking as well, but I still don't like the mirrors.
I've got to agree, nice looking rig but the mirrors just don't look right IMO!!! However, the majority of the ones I've seen on buses and other trucks are chrome and not colored, so who knows, maybe they'll grow on me. I seriously doubt it tho! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007 you can spec these engines without those mirrors. i have seen some without they look a lot better Baltimore County MD - taurudak - 10-09-2007 Reminds me of some sort of bug. Hideous. Baltimore County MD - SLIPPERYSAM - 10-09-2007 Yeah, I don't like. The front looks ugly!!! Sorry..... Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007 All I'm going to say is I've seen soo much more better looking apparatus in my nineteen years on this planet. Baltimore County MD - dawson_fire - 10-09-2007 Looks like they lost alot of lights from the front of the truck from the drawing that I last saw ! Too bad it might have softened the look some. Has Pierce officially ran out of the 2006 engines thus ending the best looking chassis line on the planet(in my opinion) yet? Terry Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007 I have to agree, those mirrors gotta go. Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007 So which is more important, the way they look, or the tremendous view they provide (functional or looks) ? Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007
Looks like they lost alot of lights from the front of the truck from the drawing that I last saw ! Terry
I agree with your last sentence Terry. The only reason I can see departments buying Pierce now is for the name. Although I kinda like the Quantum and XT. Other than that Pierce might regret doing away with the sellers. Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-09-2007 I like them minus the mirrors! Sorry Slippery! I know I hit my head Baltimore County MD - Roto-Ray - 10-09-2007 The only thing I don't like is the round headlights. The optional square headlights certainly make a difference in my opinion. The mirrors might be different, but you'll be hard pressed to find a mirror that offers you such visibility, and only adds about 4" to the overall width of the vehicle. No, they're not the Dash's and Lance's, but they're the future of Pierce. I think they're going to sell them on more than just looks. Baltimore County MD - dawson_fire - 10-09-2007 I think they will sell many of them, but I don't have to like it. I also know that they have many features that put them on the cutting edge, I just wish I could get that hood on the cutting edge of something else. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bitch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Terry Baltimore County MD - dawson_fire - 10-09-2007 Maybe someone will re-develope round warning lights.Stranger things have happened, just not tonight. Terry
how the hell do reach the mirrors from the drivers seat to adjust them ????? the first thing ya gotta do when you get in before driveing off. i don't think anybody got arms that long. I think the piece looks better than a Quantum for sure except for the mirrors. Gordon Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-11-2007 The mirrors may be electrically adjusted. Look, I don't care for the design of these new rigs either and Pierce will have its day, but the EPA and NFPA are some of the folks that are driving the great changes in apparatus and all vehicles for that matter. Some make the vehicle safer, some don't. If the bus style mirrors keep 1 person from being injured or killed they are worth the hideous looks. Just my 2 cents... Seems logical, although logic doesn't always present itself (I'm in the Army, I know this law). On the other hand, another motorized component is just one more thing to break, and need servicing. I love the look of this rig. To me it's a modern twist on classic styling (I have no idea what I'm talking about). As an outsider, and not a fireman, I go on looks alone. What are some positive features of this rig, new innovations and such? kyle <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/popcorn.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Baltimore County MD - Guest - 10-11-2007
how the hell do reach the mirrors from the drivers seat to adjust them ????? the first thing ya gotta do when you get in before driveing off. i don't think anybody got arms that long. Baltimore County MD - ilfirebuff - 10-11-2007 Nice looking truck dont like the mirorrs also. Baltimore County MD - Guest - 11-05-2007 Liberty Road Volunteers (Baltimore County, MD) recently took delivery of this 2007 Pierce Impel XM 1500/1000GWT pumper, believed to be the first Impel delivered in Maryland. Hungrybus already posted some shots of the rig @ the dealer without hose, etc., so I thought I'd add a few of the finished product. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Baltimore County MD - Guest - 11-05-2007 another.. |
