Ambulances - Guest - 03-27-2007 Does anyone here know what's going on with Ford and their decision to cut the E-series from their ambulance lineup? I don't understand if the deisel engine is just being cut and type II's and type III's will have to be gas powered, or if the E-series is being totally cut, leaving just type I's. Here's two links to a letter sent to Ford. Can anyone shed some light on this? I have to think this is a huge **** up on Ford's part but I guess we will see what happens. That'll go over great in eastern KY where I work, since most of the ambulance companies can't afford them and nobody wants the other brands. Here's another link to an article in JEMS. I also don't mind the switch one bit. Here's a pic of an old Chevrolet ambulance from Perry Co. KY Ambulances - Guest - 04-01-2007 This is the look of Perry County's newest units. Ambulances - Guest - 04-01-2007 Louisville Metro EMS. I was turned down for a job by these guys. I believe this used to be a Jefferson County EMS unit before the city-county merger. It's also been rumored that AMR is looking to take over EMS in Louisville. I say whatever. Ambulances - Guest - 04-01-2007 An old Univ. of Kentucky Children's Hospital ambulance. This has been replaced with a bigger unit recently. I saw this truck 50 million times and was never able to find out who built it. Can anyone shed some light? Ambulances - Guest - 04-01-2007 A guy in Richmond, KY converted an ambulance from the Cleveland area into his business. Ambulances - Guest - 04-01-2007 Lexington Fire Dept. started the trend in Central KY to use medium duty chassis. This is a long retired former unit that was one of their first medium duty's from Horton. Ambulances - Guest - 04-01-2007 Lexington then went to these rigs, built by Horton. They were all originally delivered white/red like the previous one. |
