Ouch! That sucks. I recall hearing that the Ferrara ladders had lots of issues.

F.D.N.Y. - goon16 - 07-31-2014

Yeah a majority of the ladder companies who have Ferraras are all in spares

Is this one of the Ferrara pumpers being scrapped already?

F.D.N.Y. - Reliance - 08-11-2014

I think somewhere it was reported that it was from Hurricane Sandy

F.D.N.Y. - B95MACKFIRE - 08-11-2014

No just old age, It's aged out .

F.D.N.Y. - ffemtwakeman - 08-12-2014

2003 Ferrara Ultra, 1000/500 HP pumper. Looking at the way the markings are blacked out, I would say this was Engine 258 and not Engine 54. You can actually see the top of the company patch behind the drivers door, and it appears to be a maltese cross and not an oval like 54's. OMG!!!! Do you mean they missed a part of an identifier when they tried to spray paint all the FDNY markings out??????

What a change from a department that was all Seagrave to Ferrara and KME

F.D.N.Y. - CCFR-45 - 08-17-2014

Nice shot of the new KME. It still blows my mind that they have a brand new truck assigned to training, and not in front line service.

Thanks for sharing.

It's allows the drives to see the difference in driving a Seagrave to a KME. It makes perfect sense
