This & That from Here & There - dJames - 12-28-2014 Nice additions Dave! Really like those new Smyrna engines. Let me know the next time you get down my way. Vidalia actually just put their new ladder in service and retired the American Engine 1. Neighboring Tattnall County just re-structured their department as well and has led to 13 new substations and a handful of used apparatus bought and gaining a new life. Drew This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-28-2014 Quote:Nice additions Dave! Really like those new Smyrna engines. Will do. There are still a number of rigs down your way that I want to get. I'll let you know. This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-28-2014 Here are the last two from Friday: Tower 1, Bartow County, GA 2014 Rosenbauer Commander (General Safety) 2000/300/115' T-Rex #MN83624 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-28-2014 Engine 4, Bartow County, GA (twin at E-10) 2014 Rosenbauer Commander (General Safety) 1250/1000 #MN13765 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-29-2014 On Saturday, Dan and I headed south to the Macon area. For those not familiar, the Macon - Bibb County FD is one Department that operates from two budgets. They cover everything in Bibb County, including the City of Macon. Stations located in the City are numbered 1-12 (no Station 4) and those outside the City are 101-110. All truck companies use the term Aerial and they are numbered 30-37. The first four are quartered in City stations, the other four in county stations. Apparatus come from several builders and are funded by two different budgets, so standardization isn't a priority. Engine 10, Macon - Bibb County FD, Macon, GA 2012 E\-One Cyclone II 1500/500/30F #137462 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-29-2014 Engine 110, Macon - Bibb County FD, Macon, GA (two more at E-1 & E-6) 2014 Ferrara Inferno 1500/500/30F #H-5518 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-30-2014 Aerial 37, Macon - Bibb County FD, Macon, GA (Station 110) 2012 Pierce Arrow XT 2000/500/30F/105' #25686 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-30-2014 Squad 104, Macon - Bibb County FD, Macon, GA (twin at Squad 109) 2013 Freightliner M2/Custom Works This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-31-2014 Engine 104, Macon - Bibb County FD, Macon, GA 2002 E\-One Cyclone II 1500/500/30F #125566 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-31-2014 Engine 1, Warner Robins, GA (twin at E-4) 2014 Pierce Impel 1250/750 #27158-01 This & That from Here & There - AFD Prescott - 12-31-2014 Dave, what stations are the Sutphen Tower Ladders at in Macon Bibb? This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 12-31-2014 Quote:Dave, what stations are the Sutphen Tower Ladders at in Macon Bibb? There is only one, Aerial 32. It runs out of Station 8 on Mercer University Drive. This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-01-2015 Our last stop on Saturday was Perry, GA. We went there to photograph their new Rosenbauer Commander pumper that carries a 65' Snozzle, but it has not yet been striped and lettered. We did not know abouit their brush rig until we arrived. Both apparatus are a change from the previous white/red paint scheme and represent the local school colors. CAFS 20, Perry, GA 1997 Stewart & Stevenson M-1078/2014 PFD (x-Army chassis) 250/300/10CAFS 4x4 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-19-2015 Our weather here lately has been crap, but I was able to get out and shoot one rig today. This was a reshoot for me. Back in the spring, I shot this one on a Metro Atlanta tour with several out of town guests, but it was not yet in service and did not have the company number plates in their holders. Under those holders is a large ugly yellow "OUT OF SERVICE" sign. This shot is a bit nicer! Engine 6, DeKalb County, GA 2014 Pierce Arrow XT 1000/500/30F #27066-01 (1 of 9) This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-25-2015 Today was a nice day in Georgia, with blue skies, plenty of sunshine and me with plenty of free time. I decided to go shoot a couple rigs. Engine 5, Hall County, GA 2014 Rosenbauer Commander (Central States) 1500/750/30AF #1641314 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-25-2015 This one was a reshoot. My earlier shot was taken a few years back, but late in the day and there was a shadow that makes this one look much better. Truck 5, Hall County, GA 2001 KME Renegade 1500/500/75' GSO-4362 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-25-2015 This one is also a reshoot. It was formerly Engine 5 and had the same shadow issues in the previous shot. This one is better. Engine 16, Hall County, GA 2007 HME 1871/Rosenbauer (Central States) 1500/750/20CAFS #1395907 This & That from Here & There - GA_Dave - 01-25-2015 This was the primary target of today's venture. This is the replacement for the Sutphen tower that failed last year. Truck 16, Hall County, GA 2014 Pierce Velocity 2000/300/100' #27500 This & That from Here & There - Guest - 01-27-2015 So why two different paint schemes on two 2014 rigs for the same department? This & That from Here & There - firescooby - 01-27-2015 Quote:So why two different paint schemes on two 2014 rigs for the same department?New chief...new preferences. They tried to change the two Rosie's but too late. |
