Next stop was Millers Creek, NC's main station. The guys here were more than accomodating and posed every single rig in the house for me!

Next stop was a little community called Champion-Mt. Pleasant where I found the volunteers out in full force. The Chief was manning the grill, grilling hamburgers for about 20 volunteer FF's and their wives and children, all eagerly anticipating the night's parade. I'd wanted to shoot these trucks ever since I caught a glimpse of this truck in last year's parade. Unfortunately, there was basically no room to pose the trucks, so I had to do the best I could. Pay close attention to the specs for this rig...

As we drove by the parade route, these three trucks were already lined up.

I'll end tonight's pics with this unique heavy rescue hiding in the mountains. Next time, I'll start posting rigs from the parade lineup, where Benjy Grice and his wife and daughter joined Julie and I.

Since those were the only 3 trucks lined up, we made a quick detour over to the Wilkes County Rescue Squad's Wilkesboro base and found this beast sitting outside! A little positioning by a member and I shot this pic.

Now I'll start posting photos from the parade lineup. There wasn't a whole lot we could do about positioning these trucks. We just had to shoot them as they pulled in. The sun was starting to get low and set behind the trees, creating some awful shadows on some of the trucks. Don't pay attention to the quality of the photos, just look at the trucks themselves.

I usually don't shoot rigs like this, but since this one was in a good spot, I made an exception. Not sure any specs about this truck or the Dozer on the trailer.

Seems MW Fire is making a big impression on Wilkes County, NC. This made 3 new MW Fire truck I'd shot so far that day. Mulberry-Fairplains, NC showed off their brand new Roto-Ray, Q2B and Powercall-equipped MW Fire engine!! If only it had the Mars 888's...
