Those 'coons are cute! The rabies problem out here gave them such a bad rap....I've always had a soft spot for them tho.

In what way would you like this to be better?

I think it looks fine given the camera info provided.

I am mostly concerned about the focus as I agree with you, I think took this shot the "right" way and the photos are still not as sharp and clear as I'd hope for. I am wondering if my camera is having focusing problems or if I need to upgrade my glass to get to where I want to be. I recently (I think it happened since this shot, but I am not sure) found a crack in the body of my camera. So I am torn between getting it repaired and replacing it, the camera is just under 2 years old and it has taken over 30,000 shots, been into 4-5 live burns and basically had the cr*p beat out of it.

So the following questions come out of all this rambling

1. What setting could have used to improve this particular shot?

2. Is my camera (my wife calls it the other woman - lol) having focusing or other operational problems?

3. After making such a huge (at the time and for me) investment in the Canon and lenses that go with it. Is it time to repair/service or should I replace it?

4. If repair/service - where is a reasonable place to do so?

5. Replace - if this is the case money becomes a major issue, think of going with the Sony H-10, which is much like my old beloved F-707 and getting away from an SLR.

This photography stuff can be so bittersweet sometimes....

Same camera - different kind of shooting & lens (a bit of cropping in Photoshop too)

F 5.6 1/500 55mm 100 ISO auto macro mode.
