Also housed here at various times were Satellite 1, Squad 8, and Smoke Ejector 1. Engine 31 was disbanded in 1972, Water Tower 1 was disbanded in 1957, and Batt. 2 was relocated to Engine 24 Ladder 5. The building was later used as a tv studio, but not sure what it's used for now. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_5_15.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> once again Fdny fire houses - Guest - 01-20-2009 [quote name='Crossbronxxpress' post='275507' date='Jan 20 2009, 20:26 ']This is the former quarters of Engine 31 Battalion 2 and Water Tower 1, located at 87 Lafayette Street. E 82's house has 2 doors.... "back in the day" how did they fit... E 82, E 85, L 31,TCU 712 and a chief? Are the bays deep, so they could back in next to each and still get out? once again Fdny fire houses - EJS1810 - 01-30-2009 [quote name='yelrowekim' post='277633' date='Jan 29 2009, 18:23 ']Question for FDNY boys... I believe E-85 & TCU 712 were squezed in the middle betweeen the doors once again Fdny fire houses - Guest - 01-30-2009 Does anyone have pics yet of the new quarters of Engine 201/Ladder 114/Bn40? I've seen a few from friends who run there but nothing real clear. Toured the house the day they poured concrete for the bay floor. Very big house, not quite the same feel as the old "Emerald Isle"butI guess it"ll grow on the Brothers. I will try and post what pics I have. A VERY expensive firehouse somewhere between $11 and $16 million. WOW, we could build at least 10 firehouses here in the Cincinnati area. once again Fdny fire houses - Marc - 01-30-2009 [quote name='towerladder16ao' post='277824' date='Jan 30 2009, 13:17 ']Does anyone have pics yet of the new quarters of Engine 201/Ladder 114/Bn40? This is EXACTLY one of the reasons why the City of NY is in the financial bind that we're in. once again Fdny fire houses - Marc - 01-30-2009 [quote name='yelrowekim' post='277633' date='Jan 29 2009, 18:23 ']Question for FDNY boys... The rest of the time it was in another nearby house. |
