F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 12-30-2006 Car 22... Gets a LANDROVER???? Must be nice as Asst Comm of Fleet to get something NO ONE ELES HAS and costs more $$$$. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 12-30-2006 Car 22... Gets a LANDROVER???? Must be nice as Asst Comm of Fleet to get something NO ONE ELES HAS and costs more $$$$. F.D.N.Y. - edburke - 12-30-2006 The Land Rover has vanity plates, so it's probably a POV, not a city car. The Jeep was most likely one of the vehicles purchased on the emergency appropriation after Sept. 11th-there were SUVs purchased from almost every popular manufacturer. F.D.N.Y. - R1SmokeEater - 01-03-2007 Found this online too..................... F.D.N.Y. - smketrfdny - 01-03-2007 Vehicles like this are usually appointed commisioners/ FDNY Dr's, Etc. They are given the FDNY plate as a courtesy. We can't get rigs repaired or replaced. We sure as hell ain't buying Land Rovers.. lolol F.D.N.Y. - hp1530 - 01-03-2007 [quote name='smketrfdny' post='64250' date='Jan 3 2007, 16:03 ']Vehicles like this are usually appointed commisioners/ FDNY Dr's, Etc. Interesting. Wonder if they are allowed to go Code 3 or they are for show. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 01-05-2007 Does anyone have any pictures of ladder 138 engine 289 in queens? F.D.N.Y. - goon16 - 01-06-2007 whats carried in the large diamond plate boxes on the roofs of the squads and i saw that 87 truck has one whats carried in them Thanks in advance. Some added the box on top to carry the equipment needed for said tasks. As did the Squads. And these ladder companies (SOC Support) are also given a utility truck to carry even more stuff. Usually a Ford utility body similar to what the repair & transportation (shops) mechanics carry. I'm on a brain freeze right now, but I'm pretty certain someone else can pick up where I left off. Stay safe, Brothers. Lil 87 allows us to carry more Hazmat equipment than the one compartment originally designated for Hazmat on the truck. The Box on many rigs both Engine and Ladders carry WATER RESCUE GEAR. I know Engine 160 carries gear in theirs for JUST Such an emergency. F.D.N.Y. - Roadrunner - 01-07-2007 Here is a pic of "Lil 87" Fireman 5230, are you a member of E167 / L87? I'm a friend of Craig Chille and visit the firehouse in 2005 and 2006! F.D.N.Y. - smketrfdny - 01-07-2007 Thanks, Brother. Drew a blank on some stuff. Shouldn't "Lil 87" be "L-43 1/2?" <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> F.D.N.Y. - goon16 - 01-08-2007 thanks for the info bro F.D.N.Y. - Frenchy1004 - 01-10-2007 I know there are none in front line service but how many CF Ladders and Engines are still on the reserve and spare rosters?
