Ok a couple shots of former BFD District Chiefs Cars, I did my best to refrence the liscense plate numbers to get the correct photo for each Car, the first two are District 1 and 3s former Tahoes.

Boston Fire Department - Guest - 06-20-2007

Next are the former Tahoes of District 4 and 5.

Boston Fire Department - Guest - 06-20-2007

Lastly former District 7 and 11s Tahoes.

Training Engine #2 (former Engine 3), A 1994 E\-One Protector 1250/750.

Not the best shot but i took it with a throw away camera, if you can tell the engine has plaxey glass over the windows, the engine was used dureing the BIO-Tech confrence in Boston.

Any current whereabouts of TL3?

Dead and buried. Seriously though, the bucket sustained somewhere in the neighborhood of $40,000 worth of damages when they peeled the roof off a BEMS rig that cut them off in front of their quarters. Given the age and cost to repair we decided to scrap it. It's definately NOT down at the Shops (I was down there last week) and it's not at our firehouse. Greenwood is a possibility as Ladder 25 is down there having the cab replaced/repaired.

I saw the former TL3 at Greenwood just under a month ago.

Skip can you define what you mean by 'scrap'. Is the BFD salvaging anything from the rig for parts (if they are needed). Also what is the story with the old Spare Tower. Now i know nothing about the mechanical aspects of fire trucks but was it not pratical to repair one E\-One tower with parts from both?

I drove by Fraser's house on my way home today. He has an identical Ford Five Hundred, MA plate Fire 1 B. Hence the confusion!

Yikes thats quite a tab for the damage. I'm interested to know too if they are salvaging it or totaling it.

Boston Fire Department - KDWMAEMT - 06-22-2007

As Sean said, the City of Boston has sent that thing to the scrap heap. Its already been replaced by the former Tower Ladder 2.....a 95' midmount Pierce.

As far as what Greenwood will do with it, Im assuming they are taking it as trade for the 2 new E\-One rearmounts. But regaurdless, I dont think it will have a second life. Its to old, beat up and Im not sure E\-One will put in the necessary repairs just to make it viable to resell. But you never know.
