Just gorgeous with great settings. Thanks for sharing them. The quad is one of my favorite trucks. Rich Garden State Oldies - Frank B - 05-25-2007 Westville NJ International chassis, ?? Edgewater NJ 1939 Mack E type21[/quote] I can't say for sure if this is the one that's been rusting away in a yard along NJ State Highway Route 23 in rural Wantage Township, Sussex County, NJ, for the past 30 years but the one that has came from Edgewater and it looks very similar. I had pics of it stored something like 2 PC's ago but now can't find them and they were posted to the original Firepics Yahoogroup in the early 2000's. Garden State Oldies - Frank B - 05-31-2007 Freehold NJ Goodwill Fire co 1941 Mack E type 45 S 1068 Garden State Oldies - Richard_L_Dean_07405 - 06-07-2007 Regarding Garfield's Maxim tiller truck. Last night one of the members of that company was a the monthly meeting of the North Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association. He said that it was 1971 Maxim but refurbished in 1978. The reaon I mention that is that someone else mentioned that it was a 1978 yet I remembered it in 1974. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 These old parade photos came in trade, so the original photographer is unknown, as is the location of this parade, altho its listed as a New York- New Jersey Firemen's Association on the photos. The RR station in the background is certainly a landmark. Any additional info is welcome, there are a lot of unknowns here. 1st is a Maxim city service ladder from Bogota Hook&Ladder Co. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 Next is a Diamond T/? city service truck from the Ramsey FD. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 Next is an unusual Brockway/ALF tillered aerial from the Ridgefield Park FD. The original photo was cut off on the left side, sorry. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 Detail shots of the drivers and tiller positions on the Ridgefield Park aerial. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 Next is a Sanford engine from an unknown dept. The cab certainly has some interesting modifications. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 Here is a Ward LaFrance engine from an unknown FD. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 A Seagrave city service truck from the Westwood FD. I wonder if this parade was before WWII... Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 A mystery tillered aerial from an unknown dept.I have a bunch more old Jersey stuff if anyone is interested... Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 The Welcome VFC in Oaklyn, NJ had this nifty 1959 Plymouth station wagon still running in this 1982 photo by John Floyd;Jenkins collection. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 06-16-2007 Also from Welcome VFC is this mid-60's Ford F-850/Great Eastern engine, 1982 photo by John Floyd, Jenkins collection. |
