Out here in New England, where money is tight, the city of New Haven (CT) is planning on cutting an engine company and redistributing the man-power to two ALS response vehicles. The reason behind this is, plain and simple: MONEY. For $20,000.00 each, the two units can replace a $500,000 fire engine, and generate income at the same time. Let the first fire-related death happen close to the closed engine company and maybe the city will rethink their intentions. When you get right down to it, it's all about money, which is kinda sad. Politicians have to stop playing these games with the fire service.

It could have been the slides that he bought or when he scanned them in it may have made them a little darker.
Memphis red is Vermilion, or was when these rigs were new.

They've been getting some new rigs. Mainly Pierce Arrow XTs for both the pumpers and trucks. I'm guessing that due to the restrictions that the current administration has placed on the members regarding photos, you don't see many pics of them. There are several pics of some of the new rigs on the Emergency Vehicle Specialists facebook page. They are the Memphis area Pierce dealer.
