It was new to Atchison. One of our State Fire Marshal Inspector's is a retired Captain from AFD and he remembers them spec-ing the rig in 1978. I checked my book and I don't have the vin number. They were very proud of this rig it was a very cool pump a true classic. They have a Ford C-8000 Pierce Suburban runs as Engine 3. They purchased it as a Demo in 1983 and the guys wanted to trade it in 2002 and keep the MACK but the chief said the MACK had to go. AFD is a neat department. They currently have Two HME Smeal's E-1, E-4 a E\-One E-2, a C-8000 Pierce E-3, and the Pierce Arrow as T-1.

Stay Safe,

Rick
