Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Engine 2 , shop # 44 is the twin to E-1 Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Another pumper lettered as E-1, shop #38 is an Anderson Engineering Simon Duplex D500 1250/700/40F when photographed several years ago. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 The newest heavy rescue in Victoria is shop #33, a 2009 Rosenbauer General Spartan Metrostar. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Another Anderson Engineering built apparatus on the Victoria roster is shop #40, a 1996 Spartan Gladiator with 1750/500/24F and 55 ft. Smeal aerial. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Ladder 7 when photographed carries shop #34 and is an E-1 Hurricane with 1250 pump, 250 gal water tank and 95 ft. ladder tower. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Victoria once operated this 1989 Mack MR rescue which was started by Thibault, and completed by Anderson Engineering after Thibault ran into financial difficulties. This rescue is now with the View Royal fire department. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 The second ladder company in Victoria, ladder 2, shop #41 is a 1985 E-1 Hurricane 110 ft. rearmount, and is an ex Las Vegas aerial. Victoria has a Rosenbauer aerial on order to replace this truck. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 At one time, the administration in Victoria would often reconfigure second line apparatus for other use to extend their department life. Hose tender 3, shop #20, started life as a 1965 Lafrance 100 ft. MM aerial with a 250 GPM pump and 150 GWT. This truck was later converted into a hose tender by the department shops to carry 5000 ft. of 5 inch LDH. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Another conversion of a second line apparatus is Foam unit #1, shop #23. This piece started out as a Thibault Custom pumper in 1973 but was converted around 1996 by Anderson Engineering and the dept. shops. The apparatus retained the 1250GPM pump, carried 800 Gal. of B foam, 70 Gal of HiX foam, 300# of dry chem. on a truck mounted tank, and a 150# wheeled dry chem. extinguisher. The truck also carried a HiX foam generator. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Another interesting department conversion is this tanker, shop #27, which started life as a 1978 Scot Nordic 1050/250/ 95 ft. LTI rearmount ladder platform. It failed ladder test around 2000, so Victoria sent the truck to Anderson Engineering to have the aerial device removed and some minor body work done. The chassis was then sent back to Victoria, which then had a 2500 gallon water tank from another tanker mounted onto the chassis and TA DA! they have themselves a 1050/2500 gal. P/T. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Although not part of the Victoria Fire Department, the nearby Victoria Airport have several ARFF vehicles. Red 6 is a 1996 E-1 Titan 1050/1250/167 F and 500# of dry chem. This is one of two in service at the airport. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 The newest ARFF apparatus at Victoria Airport is a 2007 Rosenbauer General Panther 6x6 with 1430.2750,330F and a dual stage pump which can deliver 666 or 333 GPM from the roof turret and 1000 or 500 GPM from the Rino bumper turret. Canada Eh? - atlanticfiretrucks - 11-10-2010 Does Victoria still have the 3 "re-configured" rigs??? Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Terry, great to see the Victoria rigs. I was born in Victoria in 1965, but moved to Ottawa when I was around 6 months old. I haven't been there since 1974, but would like to get back there some day for a visit. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-10-2010 Hi Bobby, The I know that the LaFrance is no longer in Victoria( now a water tanker @ the local LaFarge plant to keep road dust down), I am pretty sure the Scot tanker is there, but don't know about the Foam unit. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-12-2010 Tilley, Alberta - 2010 Velocity PUC 4x4 - 5000LPM/2800LWT/??A Pierce Job #23295 Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-12-2010
Tilley, Alberta - 2010 Velocity PUC - 5000LPM/2800LWT/??A Pierce Job #23295
Playing with my new Canon 7D and 10-22mm Sigma lens. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-17-2010 I have just had a few photos reprinted to send on to a young apparatus buff who is looking to add a few Canadian photos to his collection, and thought I would post some of them beforehand. The city of Vancouver operates a whole bunch of these 2007 Smeal Spartan Sirius engines. E-10 is one of 13 2007 engines with 1750 IGPM pumps,400IGWT,50IGFT and is also equipped with CAFS. Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-17-2010 Also delivered in 2007 were 2 Smeal Spartan Sirius 1750IGPM pumps,250IGWT,35IGFT, is CAFS equipped and has a 125 FT Smeal RM Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-17-2010 At one point in time, Vancouver purchased 13 1999 Anderson Spartan Gladiator apparatus with 1500IGPM pumps,150IGWT'S 40IGFT's and 75 ft. Smeal aerials. |
