Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 03-30-2007 Well here's some more Dave. I've got plenty more, but my new 60hr a week job keeps me off the internet. This 1978(I believe) Ambassador 100ft Maxim RM only served frontline at Terre Haute IN until 1993. I know for a fact it was a reserve when I moved out here in 1996. Unfortunately, back then Terre Haute stored their reserve apparatus in closed firehouse's, so getting pics of them was very difficult. I finally got a grab shot of this old aerial in a truck lot in 2001;it was gone shortly there after. This was still the frontline aerial at Biddeford ME HQ back in 1993. It's a 1980 100ft'er. Was this still around when you were up there Dave? It's a John Floyd pic from Lakewood NJ. It's obviously an LTI,my guess would be 1250/250/85ft??? Also that doesn't look like WLF bodywork to me;am I correct? The matching pumper was already out of service, but still in the back yard. It carried a Maxim (87 Series) number and I suspect that the ladder did too. Also Terre Haute did have a number of Maxim's over the years, so it maybe listed as a Maxim;or could it be another one of those Indy area demo's? The engine came to Yosemite in the early 90's and the only changes made have been the light masts and the replacement of the beacon with a light bar. I actually ran into this rig heading north on the ME Turnpike around Portland not long after it sold. Can anyone tell me where it may have gone;I was never able to find out? The bodywork appears to be LTI (Connestoga) and I agree about the 85' height. I have no other info, maybe someone else does. New Albany, IN 1978 WLF, WLR-100, Serial # 80-1652, Del 9/78 Purchased used by Terre Haute. Can you confirm? I visited New Albany IN in 1998 and they still had an Ambassador RM in reserve.
