This was purchased used in 1993 from the Independence Fire Company of Palmyra, (Burlington County),NJ. Involved in a accident on 11/10/01. It was replaced in 03/02 with the ALF/LTI tower. It was taken out of service on 3/6/02, and left on 3/9 on a flatbed when it was sold to a retired firefighter from Rockford, IL who collects Mack’s. Bruce 1984 Sutphen, Cincinnati canopy cab, 1500/500. One of a pair of twins ordered at the same time, 8V71 Detroit, automatic. A 4-door enclosure was added in 1992 by Sutphen. It was housed on 10/20/84 at a cost of $147,000, 6 KW Onan generator. Not an exact twin, smaller water tank and generator, had front suction, used as the 2nd piece out and first out on auto accidents in 1998 until replaced by the 1999 Sutphen rescue-pumper. Eng. 44-2. For sale in 2008. On 7/20/02, it was hit by an automobile while operating at a brush fire at the E.T. Richardson Middle School, sent back to Sutphen for repairs, placed back into service on 8/31/02. Originally designated Eng. 44-1, become Eng. 44-4 in 2004. Housed 10/24/93 at a cost of $328,000. A 16’ Wil-Burt-Night Scan light tower was added at a later date on the cab roof. Sold to it to the Ridley Twp. Vol. Fireman’s Relief Assoc. in early 2005 for $175,000 which included alot of equipment, who gave it to the Holmes FC who spent an extra $38,000 to have it repainted RW by Pierce. Taken out of service on 4/11/05 and sent to Holmes on 4/19/05. Said to be the first Sutphen tower in service in PA. Replaced and sold in 1999 to the Reamstown Fire Company (Lancaster County) for $145,000. Replaced in early 2009, not sold yet to my knowledge.
